M Wagon = world of goodness!

BUT, I cannot help but comment on the fact that in 2024 we need 717hp+ to go 3.5 secs to 60mph.
It's mad.

The obvious reason is 5,530 lbs of materials to haul around in the name of saving environment.

2021 MY versions of RS6 Avant, E63 Wagon, and even Alpina B5 BiTurbo Touring could do that level of performance with "only" 600hp because they weigh much less: 4,960, 4,725 and 4,750lbs, respectively.

I love progress, so please don't tell me "to go buy that old car". I am just challenging the M Division to do better to stay ///M and not become ///m.

Just watched some of the videos- bummed that the roof won’t be offered in carbon.

All the pictures eluded to a CF roof happening.

This design Looks much better as a touring than in a sedan form.
I saw the M5 in person the other day, it looks very cool, much better than an i5 due to the wider body. However, the body panels still feel a bit awkwardly tall for a sedan, the same as the i5. I think it's because of the space for a battery pack. But it looks much more natural with a touring.

Damn it looks hot! This ALMOST makes up for the lack of the G81 here in the US.

I appreciate we are finally getting a wagon in the US, but this is certainly not anywhere close to the one we wanted. Cannot see many positives about this car, from its looks (cannot find an attractive angle that does not look like swollen plastic or like it has had and allergic reaction), weight, performance, cost of high performance tires (at that weight it is going to eat them up). The point of a wagon is to have the utility of a SUV without the height and weight that comes with it.

As the grey fur starts pushing through and taking over my face, had thought about getting out of my M4cs into something more comfy to tow bikes, motorcycles, etc but this new lot just aint doing it.

Will probably eat my words 2-3 years from now, but until then i'm going to sulk.

Meh.

How is it that Audi has the aggressive wagon and BMW made the understated one? I’m disappointed especially given that the M3 wagon is the one I really want.

Yes to diamond
Yes to alcantara
Didn’t check on lower pockets
Yes to leather dash

Also - the roof is GLASS and not carbon, but it looks dope in person and I didn’t notice til it was pointed out.

Some other tid bits - the updated standard sport seats are DOPE. I wish that’s how they were in the g80

Luggage space is GREAT. Button to drop back seats in trunk as well as on seats themselves.

Steering wheel is meaty and the m1 and m2 buttons are much beefier compared to G80 m3.

Rear seating space was solid for a 5’11 male, knees did not touch front seat even though it was set in a comfortable position for driver

The car has a lot of presence, and looked amazing in IOMG.

Haven’t driven in it unfortunately but build quality was fantastic! If it drives like I’d want a modern m to drive, I believe this will be a super popular m car

Glad I have my name on allocation lists. Liking the looks of this, will need to drive one before I decide on whether to buy or not. As far as the weight, not worried, my XM base handled better than anything weighing 6,000lbs has a right to handle.

It doesn't look bad in the matt grey which sort of hides the stupid diffuser.

Matt paint looks great in the show room but in the real world, after they get covered in road dust, dead bugs, etc. They look really bad, like it was normal paint and the clear coat wore off.

Has that aspect of matt paint been fixed? Are they easy to wash and clean now? Can I buff out scratches over time?

So it's 577hp after you lose electric charge? What happens on a roadtrip? Or am I misunderstanding something?
