The boss car looks really nice, but I agree it lack low end torque and suspension is very stiff for city driving.

Driver sucked ? maybe some 45+ year old driving it gave me thumbs up after.
My car was bone stock but DCT tranny.

Boss. 12.3 @ 117.
0-60 4.0 sec

E92 m3 12.4 @ 114
0-60 3.9 sec.

Suck on that.

Smart. Does this count as any singular way, shape, or form?

One word "Bias"

Stats numbers can be interpreted in any way you like.
You gonna take the side depending on whos paying you money or depending on your core belief.

Real life thats what matters.

GT cant even keep up with M.
302 is much stronger but still not the same.

Lets just face it GT and Bose 302 are not faster e92 M3.
End of the story.

Returning to the original post I would still chose 302 over 335xi.
Cheers

Bias? It's Pobst and he even picked the M3 in the end. So are you saying BMW paid him money?

Maybe watch the video...?

If I had posted the non-LS BOSS video at Laguna Seca where it bends the M3's time over without reacharound, then maybe I'd understand if you said the source was biased (because TBH it's not a very good comparison given how/when the times were recorded). This video is not that.

You crazy kids. Your m3 wasn't even as fast as the 335is I used to own. The boss may not be much faster than the e92 m3 but it's gonna hang in every category except price and cost to own.

The boss 302 is a great car. I almost purchased one but the dealer couldn't get another allocation in time. It's a different car than an m3 or a vette. They all have their +'s and -'s. Pick your poison.

You're right about that. It's here any time you're ready to acknowledge it.
He did pick M3 but was very stingy for compliments.
And at the end comparing one tenth of a second, really?...
Cherishing mustang coz its American.
Imho that video is overstating what GT can really do.

Yes, and no it doesn't because the BMW was picked in the end for its superiority as an overall vehicle thus negating your reason for posting it to back your argument.

I guess you missed the part where it finished about a tenth of a second off the M's pace? I'm not saying everyone should buy one over an M3, or that the GT is better than the M3. The fact that the GT keeps pace is astounding, and should be applauded considering the old tech that Ford made do with.

Shouldn't the M3 be superior at a >40% premium?

Right, the fact that it's only a tenth of a second off doesn't pique your interest just a little bit? Considering all the pitfalls of the platform and the recent history of the model/parent company, is that not impressive?

How is it "overstating" what the vehicle can do? It's a single fastest lap comparison, who said it was supposed to be anything more than that? Pobst isn't going to rub his scrotum on the door cards and compare those for you, you can do that yourself.

"Car enthusiast" site, yaok.

Ok, Everyday Driver, I actually really like those guys. They're pretty down to earth and offer real people reviews. I thought we were talking about the capabilities of the car though. Those are two different conversations really. The M3 is - and better freakin be - the better car. They do the things like the scrotum rubbing.

Taking out the baffle makes it too loud if you've got neighbors and cops who don't have shit better to do. The shifter is bad. The door cards actually might be the worst ever put in a car. But they're right, you just don't care about this crap when you're driving it.

I've always loved the N54 cars (when working) and the 1M, but I'll just never daily an FI/DI car again until the tech is a lot more mature and the goddamn government has hadcuffed the automakers to the point where it's inevitable. More moving parts, more heat, the tradeoffs just aren't worth it for me at this point in time. That won't prevent me from respecting the cars for what they are though.

But all I was saying is that regardless of where you hold the GT or BOSS in relation to the M3, they are very good cars. It takes very little to make a GT trump a BOSS (all respect to the BOSSes out there), so I really disagree with these guys. Unless you need the BOSS name or plan on boost, get a GT for pennies on the dollar right now and spend a few bucks in suspension and engine mods (tune/exhaust/tire E85 runs 11.5 or go the road course route for cheap too), the GT is still absolutely viable in the conversation.

But I've gone off on a tangent. Regardless of whether or not you compare the live-axle Rustang to the M3, the Rustang is an outstandingly capable car.
