He didn't actually come out and say it before... but everyone including the newspapers and all of silicon valley. No one remembers the new apple ceo is gay articles lol? I feel like we are finding out people landed on the moon here. It was never a suspicion, it was a well known fact.

I'm glad he did. It's not about him being gay that deserves an award. It's about telling something about himself that has, historically, been ostracized and for which people have been hunted down and tortured and killed. People still lose jobs over something like that. Knowing what has happened to gay people, the civil rights violations that they have endured and the judgments from societies that I've seen and read about, I believe it makes someone who is such a public figure brave for doing that. I dont think it was anyone's surprise that he is gay, I think it was just a confirmation of what everyone already knew and without that in the way they can get back to the business of making phones and computers.

If people are going to - in your opinion - respond to a negative post, then why post something that may be misconstrued as a negative post? So far in this thread the only posts that have been perceived as negative have come from one or two people.
