Ah, ok cool. I didn't know Fanatec also made a seat also.

Unfortunately thats a little out of my price range for now, but it's an amazing setup. I'm planning to buy a new home soon, so hopefully that will be on my wishlist shortly after haha.

I think I will go with the Obutto for now, to hold me over and once I've logged enough hours or race time, and have everything else situated, graduate up to the big leagues

Awesome setup once again

I was looking at getting a wheel and seat setup for Xbox One Forza 6 when I started reading about some of these other PC simulators. It is interesting reading the reviews and discussions on these things. It seems people are pretty well split on which one is the best. For someone looking to get into something for fun but also learning purposes it's a little hard to figure out which way to go.

Here's my sim setup:

Not sure how you can say Assetto Corsa is not fun. I can lap tracks solo for hours and have almost as much fun as if I'm at the real track. In fact, I have a 125cc Rotax Max go-kart that I bought last year to help with my driving, but I find AC far more effective and enjoyable than taking my kart out to the track.
Damn if you ever get bored and want to dust off your rig, let me know :-P

Definitely GT6 on PS3 if you want to go the most affordable route, unless you already have a pretty decent PC that can play games. I still haven't hooked up Forza 5/6 on the Xbox One to my rig to see if they ever did anything with the force feedback. I'll have to try that sometime.

I recently picked up Project Cars and it is, in every way, superior to AC. Good selection of CA tracks too (Sonoma, Laguna Seca, WSIR, Coast Highway (not a track but still)).

Corsa mops the floor with the pcars physics, however, I can't deny that pcars does everything else better. If you're looking for more of a game or recreational experience than a sim pcars is the better choice.

Okay, I'll give you physics. However, pcars is still pretty decent on my rig and I really appreciate being able to run local tracks. Also, while pcars may provide a bit too much grip, I don't feel like AC provides enough.

Laguna and Sonoma are completely not to scale in PCars. Makes me wonder how bad the other non laser-scanned tracks are as well. The worst thing you can do is use it as a practice tool.

And the physics and force feedback is nowhere near Assetto Corsa. PCars is a better racing game, but Assetto Corsa is a far better driving simulator. Personally I want to use what is closest to driving a real car on a real track and AC is just better than the rest.

BTW I finally played Forza 6 on my rig and was quite surprised by how fun it is...as a game. The FF is definitely very impressive now, but the physics still just aren't quite there yet. I had a blast playing it for a few days, but it totally messed up my driving in AC (which translates pretty much 1-to-1 with driving in real life), so I don't think I'm going to play anymore.

Assetto Corsa Dream Pack 2 is out fellas! With it, they released the BMW M4 powered by Akrapovic. Sounds like the real life counterpart. Can't wait to give this a go with my rig.

Couple of pics of my rig. These are a bit older as I didn't take any new ones, but I have the fanatec base and clubsport pedals. I'm also using the XBox Hub to play forza 6 occasionally

How do you like that cockpit? I was thinking about getting one. Is everything really sturdy?

The thing is built like a tank. Great quality, very sturdy, but a bit pricey. Overall, very happy with it!

It's half the price of my rig, but I think it might even be better (at least based on photos).
