Definitely one of those cases of too much power. The numbers are cool and all but doesn't mean jack if don't have the skill to control it.

+1

It's just a pos dodge hellcat. The name is ridiculous (like stingray btw). What's next, batmobil ? you see ridiculous car names on american redneck brands only. Nobody was injured in the crash btw.
It's the same backward culture that created steroid bodily disformed redneck bodybuilders that makes dodge build those pos cars just because they want to get that high hp number. No balance, no measure, no wisdom, purely american redneck. At least chevy is learning from imports and is trying to move away from that.

Sucks but what do you expect with 707 HP and 275 rear tires?

But even the little FRS/BRZ has had its own fair share of idiotic wrecks and its got no HP and I think 215 tires.

The FRS is setup with slight oversteer though and Prius tires. It's meant to allow its owners to access 100%. (The BRZ is nearly neutral with a slight amount of understeer). That's very different than the Hellcat which simply has a mountain of power. Either in the hands of idiots are dangerous, but that's true of a Corolla too.

The sad reality is that it is fast in one direction. Brakes, tires, suspension, etc. are not up to par with that kind of hp. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the M3 is one of the most well balanced cars for the money. There are cars more powerful but they are generally lacking in multiple other areas (unless you want to spend stupid money...). This Hellcat is living proof. Although...I would jump at the chance to drive it. It's gotta be fun, at least for a minute...

The Hellcat seriously only has 275s in the rear?

"Police are investigating, but the weather and road conditions were reportedly clear at the time and it’s not known if speed was a factor or not."

Yeah...right. There is a possibility this guy was going the 40 MPH speed limit at the time.

His car was probably going the speed limit and his tires were going 100mph.

275s all around but that isn't enough for this Titanic of a car and on the Charger version too.

Just like the '13 GT500 and its 285 rear tires.....but the ZL1 has 305 rear tires, which is too big IMO. The ZL1 would have done fine with 285s or 295s.

And it had nothing to do with safety or driving ability to properly handle the car. The Cobra R was a race-oriented model and they wanted them to go to people who would use them as they were intended instead of waxers.

And the Hellcat is an accident waiting to happen for those without training. I'm just waiting for some dumb idiot to give one to their 16 year old child and for them to crash it leaving the lot. Its gonna happen. Matter of time. People are stupid and many have no common sense.

Maybe other cars can defy the laws of physics before some of the tards call the Dodge a pos.

Turn traction control off, with a high torque car in freezing temps on summer tires ,whether it's the torque monster M4, Hellcat even an E92 M3, same driver, you can predict similar results.

This is what happens when the general public is able to get their hands on 700+hp. My M5 already has traction issues on 295 section MPSS, the Hellcats will be a handful with those 275s. I wonder what his previous car was, I bet it had less than half the power of the Challenger lol

Agree with your premise, but saying "torque monster" when referring to M4 in a Hellcat reference is odd. Hellcat has, what, another 250 lb ft more? Think of it this way; 400 lb ft of torque in M4 + E92's 269 = 629 lb ft. In both cars. Combined.

Hellcat = 650. I think IT's the torque monster one would have to worry about.

Edit: The delta of 250 between the M4 and Hellcat is almost as many lb ft as are present in the E92!
