Again wasn't about bragging. Was more of my lifestyle choice. I choose to go big on my house rather then my cars.

Houses here run about $600 per square foot. That means that a 1700 square foot house (3 br, 2 bth) runs about $1 million. Given that price, even a Porsche 911 Turbo takes up about as much square footage as the car is worth.

As a joke, I was just recently telling my colleagues that my 43-inch flat-panel TV actually *SAVED* me money because it took up less floor space than the CRT unit that it replaced. LOL!

Yes, Silicon Valley economics are rediculous. :-)

Tough question. I would say i have a nice house and nice cars. But overall i love my cars, and my house is just a place to sleep and eat. Id rather have a very nice house and a great car collection than a mansion and average cars.

Its all priority and i personally love cars more than houses. Key thing IMO is balance, and living within your limits.

Already have a house. The car isn\'t a status symbol to me. I bought it because I like to drive it.

Buy the wheels used on the forum. You'll take minimal hit as the first owner took the majority of the hit.

I think its important cause I have kids. I love the cars and really envy you guys with the really nice cars ok here. I don't think anyone is wrong for how they live, if I was single no kids I'd be in a condo and doing the car thing. The post was just out of curiosity

there has to be a balance somewhere, you simply can't blow all your money on useless sh!t and be "living in the moment"... nobody is saying to save EVERY penny, but putting away some for rainy days is a smart move... I like to feel secure in life and not depend on next paycheck

true, no need to argue with that. i say enjoy your youth and all that because I have something for the "rainy days" already. but once again, everyone's different. I could be starving, eating cup noodles and not feel hungry remembering some "useless sh!t and be "living in the moment"... "

but that's just me. memories are all we're here for and the last thing that stays with us.

Accrding to your sig you have a 2006 E90 and a 2007 E92 both of which are really nice cars and there should be no need for envy.

Btw, franciscosss, no offense, but you seem to be putting a lot of effort into defending your position. I'm guessing you're at the young end of the scale. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.

I agree. I'm approaching my late 20s, and I'm beginning to feel the pinch.

i'm in the last stages of my 20s. But if u paid attention, I haven't said spend the money on cars and not in houses. I'm just defending my house/car is not as important as enjoying life experiences with your loved ones... or something like that

No prob. I waited until my early thirties before starting on the house and kid things. Didn't stop me from still having nice cars though.

This is my home. It's a modest home but it's paid for.
I'm thinking about adding a deck and a car port for my BMW!

Myself as of now iam all stock. (330i, 335i) My house is pretty nice 2700 sq feet mountian views. worth about 1.3. I wanna go nuts and blow a wack of money on my cars but i just cant justify spending 10k on mods when i can put it in my house.

Maybe iam just OLD

where are you at?
Where the hell do you live that a 2700 square foot house is 1.3mil? Hell go outside the city a bit and you can get about 3x the footage for that much here. (Exchange rates and countries not withstanding, is there some crazy house tax in Canada I don't know about?) Mountains = suburban or rural in my book.
