I didn't have the '08 long enough to get to know it well, but my '05 was great. They are truly all weather capable vehicles. My wife said the M3 reminds her of the STI, because you can hear/feel everything.

2006 Ford Focus ZX3...

1st incident racoon hit at about 70 MPH on highway. ~$1500 in damage. Insurance repaired.
2nd incident deer hit at about 30 MPH .5 mile from home. ~$3-4000 in damage. Insurance totals car.

Hit a turkey trying its best to "fly" cross the interstate at about 80mph. Caused a pretty good amount of damage to the front of the car (2008 Acura MDX). It was like the turkey exploded when I hit it, took weeks to get all the feathers out.
