I went on an excellent tyrade when someone I was watching the game with said "its still a hyundai"... Remember that in the 80s, people said the exact same thing about honda. Until the 2nd gen legend, acura was nothing more than a rebranded honda. In the early 90s, people used to say that a lexus was nothing more than a rebadged toyota. (Say that about an LS460 now, okay). My point is that all these asian auto manufacturers had to start somewhere, and all of them are now established as the best brands. Consumer satisfaction ratings towering over everyone else. Hyundai's warranty making bmw's look like a joke. These companies stand by their products and for good reason. I said 10 years ago that hyundai was going to make it. And I honestly believe they're getting close. Remember that Lexus RX comparison test where it actually won? 375hp for this price is obscene.

took a look back at the tv spots...
Actually said both "size of, price of" arguements (s class vs. c class and 7 vs. 3 series). Little tag on the bottom said 335i is the price. So probably not the $25k bargain v8 you were looking for...but maybe under $40k?? Would have to get some pretty good reviews to sell a bunch of hyundais for $40k IMHO. Goonski

that type of car thats just more in the shop than on the road i am an enthusiast thats why i gave it the benefit of the doubt and let it impress me, the back is gorgeous and the interior is nice, just dont want to be FULLY disappointed so i have to be a bit doubtful too i hope it does well,, really i do it looks nicer than the G35 sedan (sorry i jus dont like the new gen look in the back) yup

That's quite a bit of horsepower, I hope the car handles well, I think Hyundai hasn't really been in the business of making sporty cars. If the price is low, the roads might be flooded with them, and if the rest of the car (suspension etc.) can't deal with that horsepower, it might be a recipe for disaster.

Great looking car, I was with a bunch of guys when we saw the commercial they didn't beleive me that it was a Hyundai until they saw the logo. And when they showed the part that said, "More spacious than a 7-series, but priced like a 3-series" that just caused alot of jaws to drop. Think about it a great looking car, with a great engine, probably alot of amenities, a
10yr/100K warranty, and it's priced somewhere between 40-45K? Thats a great deal right there.

I was/am a little confused by the ad.
I know Hyundai is developing both a high HP sedan and coupe to compete in the near-luxury or entry-luxury segment. I thought Acura TL or G35 competitor. But then the commercial comes on and directly challenges a 7 series? Interesting. |

Car looks great. Hyundai is on the way up, fast. I remember reading that they might even enter Formula 1. As formula 1 signed a 10 year contract to have a race in Korea, Hyundai has contacted the FIA to get the ball rolling on possibly entering.

Well, following your logic, my bmws have been in the shop more than the hyundais I've owned... so, "who's gonna spend upwards of 60 G for a BMW ????" you badge whore hehe, all in good fun. Hyundai is definitely up and coming, it's growing faster than honda and toyota when they were around as long as hyundai has been. |

The upcoming Hyundai Genesis will have 3 engine choices. 3.3 V6, 3.8 V6
and 4.6 V8. I think the lowest option can go between 25 and 30k |

I can't find the article now, but I seem to recall that when this car was in the concept stage, it had a 6 cyl with twin turbos. it was was gonna give the 335 a run for it's money.
I remember thinking to my self 'Hyundai putting new technology in a car'? I was always under the impression that the reasons why the Koreans give good warranty (10yrs )was because they were not on the bleeding edge of technology. BTW whatever happened to the XG300?
