Yep, it's not something that happens everyday but mostly in phases.. I guess the police wants to get some media attention with it now and then.

They just seized 3 cars of some poor guys in Belgium about a month ago for being suspectedly tuned!

That said Europe is a bit stricter, every exhaust system needs street-certifications for Db levels etc..

We get to avoid the exorbitant costs for nice cars in other countries.

Lol most countries have free healthcare and free education.... younger professionals like myself are prob paying more for than that that tax rate. America is turning into a bunch of entitled assholes or heartless douchebags. No value of hard work. We need a happy medium

Yes, because that's exactly what would happen...

Our national policy (FMLA) is shameful and a laughingstock.

Get your facts straight, it's not entitlement if you rather keep 65% of your hard earned money than donate most it to the gvt charity programs.

The Soviet Union and all the Eastern European countries already tried that, err it didnt work. You should move to France, their system, happy medium is not solvent.
Now they're thinking of 75% income tax for the top bracket and you still have the VAT.

You're pretty naive.

The ability to sue another individual for almost anything and they will either pay me or have to fight it. Either way their costs aren't my problem.

This might be the most factually incorrect thing I have read today and I've been on TMZ.

If you know anyone who has lived in a country that has a socialized health care system then you would know it is not free, whose who work subsidize it heavily and disproportionately. VAT and GST all fund those systems as well every time you spend what little is left.

Yes.

It's also true that everybody except Texans know that Texas really isn't all that great, too.

Hmm, I live in Canada with socialised health care, and my tax rate is only 38%. Guess we are doing it wrong.

Hong Kong's got free socialized health care too with a max of 17% tax. It's definitely less than 10% at the end of the day. What troubles me is that people still flock to private health care. To be honest, I never really put thought into it being free until now. Damn, got some thinking to do.

I guess regardless of how good a system is, we just find ways to hate it or move our criticism to other things. There will never exist a happy medium.

We have though either parent can stay at home with the kiddo until it turns 9 months. I was truly shocked when I was told here six weeks olds go to daycare.

To below this post, the comments about stuff not being free: Sure they are not. We pay a ton of taxes but it is in our nature not to see it like that. My born family is a great example of what the free education does. My dads family was poor, and because universities are free, my dad ended up with the education he deserved. My moms family would've paid for hers easily. What people see here us getting robbed we see as opportunities shared no matter of our families class status.

Personally it has been really hard to adjust seeing people here in the states having no option because they are broke. I've brought my socialist ways here, I can't walk away when I see someone who has nothing. It is stupid how little it actually takes to give others a new start.

It's not at all uncommon to see tiny infants in daycare. It's appalling. And don't even get me started on the cost of daycare either. I could lease twin M3s for what we pay in child care. It is quite literally a second mortgage.

I can imagine. Ours is at max (income based) 250 euros per months on the first kid if I remember correctly and they don't accept less than 10 month olds.

I feel really lucky I got to stay home with our kids. Sure, we have taken a big financial hit for this and sure it's not what I imagined I'd do as a grownup. My ego has demanded I at least renovate our houses while at home with the kids and to try keep to as tight watch over money as possible. For years all that was truly needed in our family, and I'm quite proud of the skills learned.

I love the two M3 thing. It truly gives perspective to this conversation. In my country we have no personal leasing system and an M4 base model would cost something like 150k, but from this example you can see well where the tax euros go. In the end of the day, I can go to the shops in a VW. Probably even faster than in an M and the damn low clearance.

Don't tell anyone, but I prefer the looks of that to my Peter. I've actively drooled on those for the last 7 years or so
