Its the most realistic car game/series on the market.

They do extensive research on physics for each and every car and track.

huh?

The game doesn't come out til April 17th.

According to Wikipedia:
"First mirza announced at E3 2007, the game will be released in Japan on December 13th, 2007 (a downloadable demo arrived October 20th) and on April 17, 2008 in North America."

Gamestop.com won't have it until April 15th.

I think so. The new M3 coupe is there, not sure about Sedan. The 135i Coupe is there also. I think 335i will be there.

You ever played a Japanese Version PS3 game?

I don't want my game's titles in Japanese and what-have-you. And even if you can change the language, which I doubt you can do in the game, I wouldn't even know where to go to change it.

I have the Japanese version and if you've played any other version of GT you can easily navigate it. Actually a lot of the language is in english for some reason, but even the stuff that isn't is real easy to figure out. The menus are the same as in the prior versions of GT. Might as well wait now though for the US version, it'll be out in a month or so right? I just couldn't wait, but I've had this since December.

Yeah the sucky part is that the Logitech Force Pro wheel that I bought for GT3 and 4 isn't going to cut it anymore. That and my 'cockpit' set up is gathering dust in my garage.

For GT5, I'm compiling a wishlist which includes:

Logitech G25 (about $260)
Buttkicker BK-GR Gamer (about $100) - frivolous but it should add a nice tactil dimension
Playseats Evolution Gaming Seat (about $290)

You'd also need an adaptor bracket for the Playseats Evolution seat to mount the stick shift in its proper place, thats about $20-$40 on ebay.

Of course, you'd need a good sized HD screen and sound system.

About $700-sh total! -Expensive hobby

If I pull the trigger on that setup, with GT5, you guys won't hear from me for quite a while

You've obviously never played Uncharted. And I assume you don't intend to play MBL:The Show, Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, etc.

hey KL2DC is the logitech g25 supported for the game? i have searched and found that on the ps3 forums its mixed feelings. the wheel and pedals work but the actual 6 speed shifter will work for the game and ps3?

i too was thinking about the same setup your doing. but found out that the g25 is not supported. now that the game is almost out, i search again and its mixed feelings of it working or not.

I just barely got the Froce Pro wheel so I could play GT4. It WON'T work at all, or just not real well?

Taxes are done, we're getting back about 3400, hmmmm, my son REALLY wants PS3, and since BlueRay is de facto now, I could swing that at the wife. But I GOT to get something other than the chess table my grandpa made for the wheel, and an ottoman to sit on.
