I think its taking time for people to figure out z06 performance is epic. Many perceptions are probably still stuck on the 180hp v8 versions from the dark days

Agreed, who cares?

I bought a used C6 Z06 when I was 23, it was a great decision and an incredible car.

Being a track junkie I have huge respect for the C6Z because I see them all the time. The new C7Z is insanely fast around a road course and I would consider one for myself except that its been having some overheating/safety issues on track that would worry me until they're sorted out.

These overheating issues are troubling. GM must have known about these issues during their development testing and choose to ignore it. It was probably for financial reasons since it may involve some redevelopment but for a car that's suppose to be a track beast, this is embarrassing.

the Z is a complete fail for track use. better off getting the z51

Wow, lucky to walk away from that crash. If it flipped over, it would have been a different story.

I agree, this is embarrasising to put it mildly. I was going to get this car and was very excited before i read about overheating and safety issues. Hopefully they sort it out soon .
But a i would assume they lost a lot of customers like me for now and they must have a lot of unhappy/angry current owners of c7 z06 who payed $100K.
This is another example why is it a good idea not to purchase a car in its first model year.

Yep... C6 and lugs looked to have failed. Saw that happen to the front wheel of an RS5 once and it was scary (although everyone was fine). Check your torque folks after each run session!!

See above... not sure why you associate this with a "Z06 fail"... could happen to any car is the lugs fail or aren't torqued properly.

Front looks fantastic but rear is ugly and doesn't flow. It's the "butt-her-face" of sports cars to me.

I can't get past the looks of the rear of the car myself. Front is ok, side is great and interior much improved vs. previous cars. But the rear looks pieced together somehow and don't like looks of lights or exhaust. Just when I think I'm coming around to be ok with it I see one and don't like it again.

I am almost 50 but seem to only see men or women older than me driving them around despite changes to the car. Doesn't really matter to me but don't think I agree with some other comments that the new styling is attracting younger customers.

Looks to be the same guy from this video...

However that is a c6 z06. The c7 is a step forward in all aspects to the c6.

I would not call extra 350 pounds a step forward. A significant aspect in racing.

I THINK I saw a Z06 today at eAs when I went in for coding.

Looked pretty good but the interior for a car like that seemed very cramped. Which I find a bit odd...

You find it odd that the interior of a small 2 door sports car is cramped(not really)?

I have done it few years ago when I was 33 it was fun however; I don't have any desire to buy another one again.

I have mixed feelings on the look of the new Vette and Z06. I think the rear end looks weird and I don't like that they went away from the round tail lights. I also don't like that on the new ones the base C7 and the Z06 don't look that different to me. Overall I think they did a great job with it.

Agreed. I owned three different C6's (including a Z06). They were fun but have no desire to own one again. Just not my cup of tea. I love the styling of the C7 from the front and its profile but the rear end is
