Did someone at Cleveland.com check how this would work? The EPA only has jurisdiction over the 500,000 or so cars sold in the U.S. Not the 10.5 million sold worldwide

Not going to happen. Gasoline engines are significantly cleaner than Diesel. Honda is a world innovator in engines and clean emissions, this is precisely why they never ventured into diesel.

Are BMW shares publicly traded? My impression was that it was a privately owned company?

I believe an investigation will find a significant difference between test and real world performance of a wide swath of diesel powered cars and light trucks. This variation will in most cases not be the result of a defeat device. However, it will lead to revised testing procedures for diesel powered cars and light trucks.

I would be curious as to what the road results would show on a Diesel Cruze or any Domestic Diesel pickup truck for that matter.

7% devaluation on a single magazine uncorroborated test in an article.

Yes BMW and their majority shareholders the Quandt's are not very happy with AutoBild at the moment.

AutoBild plays dirty with their article!
As a note, for every manufacturer the noxes are related to fuel consumption. It's impossible to match their statements so the noxes are for sure higher. But to cheat an entire World is a big bluff! |

http://jalopnik.com/german-magazine-...tes-1732767600 "Today that the German government announced that this VW issue effects many of European diesel engines too. They’ve identified the 1.6 and 2.0 diesels, but it is just a matter of time before they realise that a different algorithm is limiting the urea flow in the 3.0 diesel. The ICCT had data from Emissions Analytics from PEMs testing of an Audi A8 with the 3.0 diesel. This was x22 times over the 80mg/km NOx limit.
