They offer stunning views of these race cars in person and when you are there, you can see that there is a lot of air management going on inside the car. The outgoing Z4 GTLM and E92 M3 GT ALMS race cars used air ducts inside the car to manage the air flow for critical cooling function. The rest of the air is actually passed through the car: Here's more photos of the Z4 GTLM, GTE and GTD race cars that shows the air flow management. Note the ducts pushes air over the car. ..and yes, that's a P65B44 V8 under there. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1065981

BTW, the mid engine and rear engine cars will have better from aero air management. This is what it looks like under a Lamborghini Blancpain racecar, notice almost all the air is pushed out by the ducts, same as the Audi R8 GTD car.
Notice for a larger engine like the AMR DBS V12, a lot of the air is used to cool the engine compartment, which makes it less efficient.

I am seriously going to miss the sound of the P65 in the Z4 GTLM though. I always thought the E92 M3 GT sounded incredible, but the Z4 GTLM took it to a whole new level. Reminds me of the old Panoz GT cars. Straight up devil's trumpet.

GT3 rules are same worldwide which is what makes it such a great class. Glad IMSA brought it along.

If you're referring to the giant gap behind the front quarter-panel (between it and the door), that's intentional. The way air flows through the M6 GT3 is very different from the road going M6. You can see (loosely) similar vents on the Aston Martin Vantage GTD car. These vents allow air that enters from the grill to flow out the sides of the car, resulting in greatly improved cooling.
