X5 pros: fast, fun to drive, a little higher off the ground, fast, and fun to drive
cons: not as refined as my GL450, need extended warranty, stigma of BMW driver Sum it up - go for it and depending on year and model, get the warranty or make best friends with indy mechanic. |

dont get one with more than 70k. things will start breaking
had 2002 4.4 and now E70 4.8 losts of plastic cooling system parts. engine itself and trans held up very well but all the pieces tha bolt to it. dont get me started on valley pan, coolant pipe inside the V, seals of all kinds. however, 2002 went 170k before trade in for 2008. this one just reached 100k and all the usual suspects are returning. I do all the work on our vehicles so I just roll up my sleeve and take care of it. no more bmw V8s in our future thats for sure |
