are you guys serious about the attention lol. it was 3.30 am complete straight nobody on the highway flat stretch for awhile. i don drive like an ass either and only do it when im out this late comming home and nobody out. this is like my 3rd time ever going past 110+.

anyhow seriously your bmw is meant for this speed, obviously not in the US but if you have a chance with noone around and your confident then no reason to see what your car can do.

how would i enjoy the car if i never got to experience the true potential of the car lol. safety first and i always keep that in mind .

and no i just wanted to ask people that hit 155+ to see what happen, plus it was 3.40am when i got home and wanted to post so don be bashin on me for speaking what i want to speak.

if you never go past even 100 i feel sorry for your 335 seriously.

Why don't you take a picture of your speedometer next time?

Nothing good to say?

That advice, in my book, constitutes as good.

I post on a Honda Civic forum (5,300+ posts) and an Infinity G forum (120+ posts)... what is your point.

I think people saying take it to a track and you shouldn't speed on public roads is stupid too. I would rather speed on a public road to get where I am going a lot faster rather than speed to go nowhere (as on a track).

I also think the OP is an attention wh0re, why else would you make a useless post like this.

bmw surely is truth in engineering

PS: anyone hit 155? do you get a message on i drive or something saying the governer is active?
max and bounce off 155 all day long on the autobahn.. i need a delimiter..

on another note, the car is not very stable at those speeds..

I invested in the M aero kit fron spoiler, a rear spoiler, some 12mm spacers all around for a wider stance, left the sport springs but changed my shocks to Koni FSD, and did front and rear HR sway bars.. Now crusing at those speeds is quite stable.. otherwise be careful

I did the same during ED. No governor message or anything.

the car feels very safe at high speeds. i was crusin at 100 and bouncin off to 120-130 when going to PA one time too. i never went 140-150 for a long period of time so wouldn't know that but it does feel very safe at those speeds and i don't even have the aero or anything for that matter.

Wow, OP wants to talk about driving fast in a secluded area and is berated by a bunch sarcastic hypocrites for driving fast WTF?

Since when did this forum become about self righteous little men afraid of their own shadows? Of course the track is the place for this sort of thing, but if there isn't one around and you are in an isolated area who's business is it of ours to berate and brow beat?

Good grief, are BMW owners by and large so terrified of their own vehicles? Has Roundel worship gotten so overwhelming that we really have NOBODY with any spirit left? Are we to just line up like good sheep and poke along at the unrealistically low speed limits because that's the law??? Holy hell I thought BMW owners were supposed to be individuals, not Sheep...

Sad...

Like none of you have EVER gone over the speed limit, or been over 100MPH, and if you HAVEN'T then SELL YOUR BMW RIGHT NOW to someone who understands why we drive what we drive, and not just how to worship a freaking Emblem and attempt to feel superior to someone else.

We should be getting along here...

From what I can tell, most of the replies are just words of wisdom. Saying that you feel people shouldn't be doing something doesn't mean you think less of them if they do. We're all guilty of breaking our own rules from time to time, that's nothing new.

How do you know nobody else is around? Correct answer: You don't.

Many of the people on this forum (and others) do not have as much skill as they think they have, myself included. Everyone wants to think they're a good (or amazing) driver. Go ahead, ask everyone you can find if they think they're a good driver. Less than 2% will say they aren't.

The majority of people do NOT know how to handle a car at high speeds, nor how to react to certain situations. If you think looking out for the well being of another person is berating, then I think you're an idiot.

Not trying to start a fight, but why are you getting upset that we're telling him to be safe? It's wonderful that he loves to push the limits of his car and his abilities, and I think it's wonderful that we are concerned when we hear about it.

Driving spiritedly does NOT mean driving four times the posted speed limit when there is "nobody" around.

If you've never driven curvy mountain roads with inclines and declines, curvy roads in general with inclines and declines, ice, rain, snow, extreme heat and extreme cold weather, then you're not prepared to drive fast. During the winter, I encounter black ice like everyday because of the high elevations. When people say the Nürburgring is a crazy tough track, I say, that's like my daily drive to buy my gallon of milk.

People like to make themselves sound better than others on this forum. It gets really annoying.

It's like that Prius episode of South Park where the Prius drivers talk like they're btter than everyone else.

Guys, if you haven't hit at least 100 in your car (especially you 335i drivers), then you can't be pushing the thing past five tenths.

On the highway, traveling 70, I could hit 100 and get back down to 70 in no time at all. It's not hard, and it's obviously no where near the limits of the car.
