I think it just depends on the driver...I have a Mustang GT, and bought the 128i for my daily commuter since I moved farther from work. Now I can track the Mustang and enjoy the 128i on a daily basis.
I don't think Mustangs are the problem, the driver who can't handle a relatively high power, rear wheel drive car is.

I live in C.T and let me just say I have encountered many Mustangs owners they are always cutting me off or trying to race all of them. I once was at a redlight and a mustang pulls up and starts burning out. I think they have something against M3s.

I've seen pretty much every kind of car with a jerk at the wheel. I've been cut off by MB drivers, Lexus drivers, BMW drivers, moms in minivans, and guys in pickups. A guy in a white Mercedes C350 once challenged my Mustang in a drag race from a stoplight [which went up to 120 mph, and I am NOT proud of]. Something about my manhood took over, and turned me into the jerk the OP is talking about. But he started it.

If I could only pick one model/manufacturer/type of car that seems to have more jerks than others, I would say it's riced out cars - Hondas with big fat loud mufflers; BMWs blacked out and de-badged; anything with a "No Fear" or other decal on the windshield; etc.

But honestly, I don't know anyone can say it's only Mustang/Camaro/STI/<insert your favorite here> cars that are a problem. Although it could be that certain cars make a driver more of a jerk than he would be otherwise...

For the record, I never challenged anyone in my 10 years in that Mustang. That unfortunate race with the C350 was my only bad street moment with that car.
