I am currently really feeling like a 997 (.2 if possible) C2S as a second car/toy. Something different. Manual, no bells and whistles just all car. Seem to be holding their values at somewhere around 50k around here so i wouldn't feel like its too much of a waste of money either. Can find much better prices out of province so i would consider doing a lowish sight unseen offer and make it a roadtrip back home ( Canada is a big country and a lot of specimens are for sale in Ontario/Quebec ). Who knows I might even be able to keep the value stable for importing it into Alberta due to higher local pricing after a few years of ownership.
Would still DD my M235i which has all the creature comforts ( and a warranty ). Prices for me are for CAD so it doesn't reach as far as for you guys pricing in USD. |

For full on performance it has to be the GTR, but I really like the idea of the modern m6. I would love a c63 but after owning a few fairly new mercs I think it would
1 fuck up daily 2 not actually feel like a performance car unless in a dead straight line 3 not have the "fizz" after you get used to that mental sound I think it would be bland |

I think I would now have to go with a 2016 Shelby Gt350R with a 7:32.19 at the Nurburgring. Staying with BMW to get 4 second faster you have to spend another $75K to get the M4 GTS. But the GT350R is less than the M4 which is 20 seconds slower.
I was at the Ford Nationals car show this weekend, and they have the 350 and 350R there. The Ford guys did say it was a bit rough to drive them, so the BMW probably still has a better ride overall. |

I suspect you to be right, when I bought my 07 335I which I still have I was also looking at the GT500 and the dealers were marking them up $10K and their was a waiting list. |

Does it have to be pure performance? Or can cool factor in? Because if I had $20k to dump on a "performance" car that put a smile on my face every time I looked at it, it would be an E24 M6. Quite possibly the most gorgeous design ever.
