Of course when someone like Nkc says something like that on the internet it's fine but when I do it I get arrested by police, put on the registered sex offender list, and can't be within 250 feet of any school or playground.

I've spent a pretty good amount of time on Facebook and never had an issue with me personally, however my mom had a big-time bitch fight with my brother's wife a while back. Short story is the wife has an obsession with Disneyland and posted a photo of a tree that looked like Micky and my mom made some comment about it that was taken as sarcasm.
So, it got all heated and the wife didn't want my mom around....my brother didn't want to take a side but leaned towards the wife which made things worse. Anyways, they speak but never really recovered.
Facebook, used correctly has a lot of value. As long as you keep politics, religion and critical or ill advised comments out you will be ok.
The difference between FB and forums really is the fact that most of the people you have as friends on FB are actually people that you associate with or have been friends with in the past.
And then there are guys like a friend of mine from work who hooked up with a girl from work (also on FB) at a party and got all sloppy. Those pics led to awkward!!

My mother keeps posting her extremely fat puppy's pictures. My husband now has his phone locked since I really wanted to tell her to take the fucking dog for a walk. Now I'm mad at the hubby because he's protecting my mom.

He has his, I have mine and we never use each others computers. As far as I know, he could have 10000 plus posts on an audi forum. We don't even touch each others phones if not as a last resource.

There are 12 laptops/ computers in our possession and about a million phones and a few tablets. The only thing we share is our kids browser history and their email and textings. Those we both screen daily.

My mother knows nothing about dogs, though she lived with me and my dad for 20 years. She is just hopeless and I feel sorry for the puppy but I rather not be in contact with her at all. At any times or ways.
