Not of the same nature as those living there, but our ERP systems are hosted in St. Mary's and Atlanta. We had a bit of disruption this morning, but they have always guaranteed us connectivity. Just before we bought, 3 hurricanes hit St. Mary's and they said they didn't drop a byte.

Hurricane Matthew
Not sure where to post this...MODS please move as necessary. Found out today that our manufacturing plant in Charleston SC is closed starting today and through the weekend - never seen that happen in my 12 yrs. All residents have been told to evacuate starting with specific zones.
To those impacted by the Hurricane - be safe and Godspeed. Good luck out there! |

I'm in West Palm Beach, close to the ocean. Pretty sure I'm going to get hit hard.

I live in downtown Jacksonville, which is about 16 miles from the coast. Jacksonville's metro area beaches (north of Daytona up to South GA) are going to get slammed pretty hard and we're hoping the storm stays a decent distance off the coast as it goes past us. Charleston, SC looks to be in just about the same boat we're in. Let's pray this storm stays 50+ miles off the coast, but the latest forecast tracks show the storm may loop back around and come back at the coast!! Because I live in downtown Jax, I live directly on the St Johns River and if the ocean experiences a storm surge, we will experience a storm surge on the river as well (the St Johns River flows to the Atlantic Ocean). My M4 and our X3 28d both park in a basement parking garage and honestly, I'm worried about significant flooding. South and Central Florida's coasts will be the most directly impacted, I think. Space Coast here. Brace for impact! I'm in the middle of remodeling my garage, which may be gone come Friday.

I would be, too. No alternatives? At least for the M4? No public parking garages above ground around you? Even if it costs you a few bucks, it'd be worth it to get your car above ground.

Near river. "Possible" 10" of rain. Where exactly, who knows. Yikes. Models are just that but one has it going up to the Carolinas then going back down. Heads up. Eyes and ears open!

I went to college at Florida Tech in Melbourne. I've been in contact with many people there. It looks like it could take a direct hit. They've already moved all the students out of the dorms. I was there for many storms, but nothing like this. I hope you all stay safe down there.

Floridians - - - - Get Out Now!!!
I am watching CNN and The Weather Channel and things are about to get "dangerous and deadly"! I have friends and family in Miami and So Florida and pray for you all...
This HURRICANE is not anything to F** with! Category 4 = 145mph+ winds and rain. Plus Storm/Ocean surge. You can rebuild and recover... You can not re-live!!! I am seeing more people have chosen to stay and wait it out. REALLY???

After Sandy i much rather stay and risk getting killed in a storm rather then get slowly rape by the thieves, insurance company, fema, and the federal government.

Rain, loss of power, etc... but with regards to wind damage they are looking like they'll miss the heavy stuff.

If i lived on the east coast any where north of Pompano Beach all the way to SC, i'd be gone or leaving now.
If i'm not mistaken, the long reaching TS winds are generally on the easter side of hurricanes with all the rain on the west side. Not sure if that holds true for all of them, but with as many as i've monitored over the years, it seems to be a trend. We're projected to get about 30mph winds for a 4 hour window early tomorrow. Edit: Seems to hold true for this one as well.
