Depends......
80 if I can't see the road up ahead very well (on TX 121), especially near the crest of any hill. More if I have a clear line of sight for LE for at least a mile. But on my commute, whatever the flow of traffic, 50-80 mph. |

With ICE, speed limit + 10, which is generally 80 on the interstate between cities. In cities are lower.
With EV, max 70, to minimize trip duration (due to significantly large power usage at above 70 mph and thus longer charging time). |

In my last car I averaged 120 over half+ the 610 loop (20-25 miles, full loop is 38) a couple times. That's way faster than it sounds cuz you have to constantly slow down when blowing the overpasses to check for cops then go flat out til the next overpass and repeat. Then there are the turns, holy shit. You wouldn't think the thing has more than 4 corners but in reality, it's pretty technical, has 40+ corners and some are really gnarly with crazy elevation changes and subtly changed grip due to the surface wear.
These days I drive the speed limit or 10 over when on the street. It's called the motocross track and I can go there as much as I want during the week for $25 each time so now I don't feel too much desire to kill myself on the road. I go to the regular track too but for some reason it's 100x harder to drive your car on a fucking track than it should be. |
