Sounds like you have a lot of extra time...don't worry as you get older (and busier, like with a kid) that super meal will be a thing of the past. When I was in my twenties I would eat 5 or 6 medium pancakes....now, maybe a small banana. I go to the gym in the morning and prefer to be semi fasting.

I'd prefer to prep my own food than eating canned/packaged food. Most don't recognize the effect on one's insulin levels with all that canned/packaged crap. When you combine individual ingredients, you can control more variables. Digestibility is everything in maximizing your potential for growth. When you eat crap like canned tuna, or pre-packaged meats, or powdered protein, you greatly impact your digestion, which in turn effects things like protein synthesis.

Again, this is just me being anal about it. Have some extra time on my hands, so why not do it the best way (which will always be, hands down, purchasing individual ingredients and combining them to make a meal, rather than purchasing combined ingredients/prepared foods).

Oh, and I usually put on some documentary/political debate while cooking breakfast. Get some good food going AND learn something.

Thomas Bagel or Pepperidge Farm Bagel (whatever brand I can find in the grocery store) and veggie cream cheese, every morning (except for weekends) the past 5+ years or so.

Takes 10-15 minutes from prep to finish and I'm out the door.

Few years ago I started a job with a long commute and decided it wasn't practical to 1)Not eat breakfast, 2) Get breakfast in the office after such a long commute, or 3) Spend more than 15-20 minutes making breakfast at home from start to finish.

Tried a few things, didn't like cereal, eggs took too long to cook/clean and left my place smelly, so the bagel works perfect and takes me to lunch.

Beware: The older you get, the longer it takes to get ready.
