Sounds like your doing pretty good. But i always say moderation is the key along with a healthy exersice plan.Curious to know how many calories you are taking in a day.If you repost your age, weight and height, I will give you a calorie goal. Also, are you keeping a food record? If not, I would recommend that you start.

Like kat said, its like quitting smoking. Some people can do cold turkey, others cant. My sis in law used to smoke alot of cigs, but when she married my brother (who hates cigs), she quit. And it wasnt cause he wanted her to, it was cause everytime she wanted to smoke, he'd make her go outside, then it would be cold, and she wouldnt want to. And since he didnt smoke, it stopped being a social thing for her also. She slowly got "over it".

So in the beginning you can try and help him pack lunches, make it the night before, and once a week he can go out and buy something that he wants. Just gotta support him and help him out till he adjusts to the idea

I wouldnt go as high as 1500. For me, my daily is around 1100, but now that i work out more, i can go up to 1300. I have days where i eat like a pig and im sure i exceed way more than 1300, and other days i'm probably lower than 1100. But keep track of it all.

Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is 21

18.5 or less Underweight
18.5 - 24.9 Normal
25 - 29.9 Overweight
30 - 39.9 Obese
40 or more Very Obese

Your current weight is 114

Calories per day to lose weight 1140
Calories per day to maintain your weight 1482

Your at a perfect weight. I urge not to do 900 calories a day, its to low. Women require 15-22% body fat to produce the estrogen they need and to keep their body healthy. Good luck

I have a BMI scale at my house and when I did my pilates I went from 24% to 19%.....I felt so much healthier too. I dont' know how accurate those home scales are though. I should do pilates again.

What type of results are you looking for? Are trying to tone yourself up or lose weight?

Pilates is a great exersise it promises more lengthened muscles, toned, strong, increased flexibility. As with all results, you need to be patient, but results will happen. I would recommend a dvd so that you wont get bored.3-5 days a week 30 minutes a day would be an ideal goal

Yeah I'm just too lazy. Maybe I'll just try mainly the ab exercises since that's all I care about right now. I have a book with all the ones I learned in it, I really like "the hundred".

Fenianz- I am 101lbs, 5'3 (im petite). I work out about 3-4x a week. I usually do 20 mins of stairmaster, and 10 mins of elliptical. I do abs next. Which includes the roman chair (where you kick your legs up) I do that about 3 sets of 15. Then i do crunches and bicycles on a mat. Then i lay on a bench that is tilted down, and i lift my legs up while holding onto the handle and lift my butt up. So the weight of my legs is being raised by my abs. I have ab definition.. but id like it to be more pronounced.

Then i move onto to arms. I do tricep dips while placing a 10lb weight on my thighs. Then i do pullups (about 3 sets of 12). Then i do leg presses (40 lbs), thigh machines (55lbs), and chest press (35lbs).

If i want to tone even more, what should i do?

Is 5'3" really petite? I mean I believe that the average woman is 5'4" and in the US 5'5". I'd consider 5'2" or 5'1" and under petitie, unless you just mean you're small framed.

My whole life I've been told I'm a midget but I'm not under 4'7".

Also, did you grow up in California? The average height tin California among Caucasion women is much higher, I think like 5'6" due to the location of immigrants being a majority from countries with taller people.

yeah born and raised in So cali. But my parents are born and rasied in Sicily. And sicilians generally are not tall unless they are mixed with northern italians, who are mostly influenced by germany and austria.

My mom is 5'3, and my dad is like 5'7. My bro is 5'8-9, and the other is 5'10

Yeah so you probably just feel short compared to those tall Californians. In the Northeast you'd fit right in.

I grew up in a very Italian area so I didn't feel so short, I mean I was still called a midget but it wasn't that bad. Now that I live in Florida, there are lots of taller people and I actually get negative comments from people like "why are you so short?" or they say to my boyfriend "how could you date a midget?" It's pretty rude.
