:-)

I have been dating a girl for 3 months without showing her my e90....
I was taking my VW golf

Why? because I do not want her to like me for material things

Anyway we are not together anymore......... as many of you said already it depends if you want a serious relationship of not

if not take the e90....if yes don`t

If it's not that important, why would you be trying to keep the miles off of it?

I would suggest picking her up in the inferior car. If things go well, bring out the BMW on the second or third date.

Don't lie and say that the car is not important to you - if you are on this forum it obviously is - and that will be come apparent as the relationship (if one forms) progresses.

Why does everyone think that a girl who likes you for your E90 makes her no good for you? It doesn't necessarily mean she's materialistic. After all it's also what you like too isn't it? Maybe she's just a girl who's into cool cars. The same way another girl might be into gadgets or computers, or something other interest.

Take my own car? Yeah right, I'd be like, "I don't have a car, can you pick me up? I'll drive though."

I'd take the e90, but i'd put some "toyota racing development" decals on there to throw her off. Then, a few weeks later i'd take off the banner and reveal that it is, in fact, a BMW. The capability of those decals to transform your car into something it's not is astounding...

the inferior car. make sure she likes you for you..not the $$$ because as soon as your $$$ is depleted, so is she.

pluse if you look too bling bling..she's going to expect you pay for this, that, expect this gift, etc.

I'm glad i'm married..can't stand the dating scene anymore.

I'd take the Yugo, K-Mart clothing, wacked out hair and Old Spice or some stinky cologne. When she falls for me, I'll know it's for my inner qualities.

Because a Boxster isn't practical 90% of the time. That’s why I have a coupe and a truck. Running errands, picking up multiple people, etc is a job for the SUV. The coupe is for fun. Don't put all your eggs into one basket... especially if that basket is a Boxster

As for the main question, I think it depends on the girl. My girl drives high end cars so when we first went out I drove my BMW. To her it was just what she was used to and it was nothing special (she had an MB SL at the time – girls and their convertibles ).

If I didn’t know what the girl was like I probably would drive the inferior car to judge the girls reaction of whether she was there for me or for the free dinner.

Hmm well i consider myself unmaterialistic and not superficial. However i had a date with a lawyer about 2 months ago. He said he was a junior attorney but still made decent money. He showed up on our date in a 1995 green kia sephia. Um.... he didnt get a second date. But it wasnt so much the car, its cause there wasnt much chemistry.. but still the car was a no.

Depends

If you have a coupe, that's different. I'd refrain from driving a truck, simply because a truck doesn't reflect my personality at all. If it does yours, though, maybe that's the one to drive. Put some Garth Williams (I think that's his name - the country boys at Officer Candidate School insisted on forcing their city-slicker friend to learn the lyrics to "Friends in Low Places" many years ago) on the CD player.

Nice to have the choice. I couldn't dream of having two cars. When I move back home the parking fees alone will kill me if I ever try that.

Truck does not equal country bumpkin I happen to be the farthest thing from a guy in a pickup listening to country music (not that there’s anything wrong with that). My truck is an '06 Supercharged Range Rover which is a very refined vehicle and a pleasure to drive. Don’t immediately think Beverly Hillbillies when you hear someone drives a truck. I’m more like James Bond, not Jed Clampett.

Everyone knows that the RRs/c is not a truck. It is a car in disguise.

In all honesty. The E90 is just that, a 3-Series.

If I was worried about being too flashy - I would think twice about taking my Astin Martin out. You see -> my beemer, is my car. I use it to goto varsity, i use it to go on dates. I will be able to tell soon enough if the girl is just in it for the cash - no matter what car I drive.

Another thing, I don't try and impress women on dates. I do things to make me happy...

If I was you - I'd drive the car you feel like driving. I would take the "nicer" car for the first date - or any date (as long as it's in a nice area with secure parking) just because...who really wants to be driven around in a hoopty?

Cool cars? Okay, I can imagine a woman into that stuff. Gadgets? Computers? That's probably rare.

This whole thread makes me think that when I have an E90 or E92, I'll keep my VW for dates to keep the goldiggers away.

I really don't see the problem. If I had a Ferrari, I would take it out on the 1st date. She sleeps with me, I don't call her again. She doesn't, then she is not a slut and has potential for relationship.

The ability to afford a nice car is reflective of your earning potential (most of the times) which is a derivative of your work ethics, personality, intelligence, etc. So if she likes you for your money, that is not necessarily all evil or bad. She appreciates the fact that you are capable enough to earn that money.

This is even ingrained in their subconscious, as women seek men that can provide. Reading up on some social darwinism and evolutionary psychology really opens the mind.

Take whichever has a bigger sunroof. That way, when you bite through the airvalve, she can easily escape.

it depends on if she has a nice car. if she has a car of almost equal or more value, then take the e90. if she has like a 5 series or an E-class or something then she won't like you for your car because it won't really matter to her.
