Death Magnetic would be interesting, I can see they're trying to get back to the harder edge style starting with the St Anger album..I don't think it'll ever be anything as hardcore as Breadfan, The Prince or Creeping death..then again that's what Metallica was all about and will pretty much be a classic for true hardcore Metallica fan...

Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Carlos Santana, Jimmy Page.

They all know how to PLAY guitar.

Satriani is good and I like to listen to him....but he did not place music where it is today like the others listed. To be copied is the best form of flattery.

it's true, i think. when i sit there and say i want to give it a chance and listen to it, i cannot even get thru a whole song. i get bored somewhere between 30 and 60 seconds into the song

well first of all for some reason they thought untuning the drums is a cool thing (annoying). 2nd no solos, 3rd james was trying to be kurt cobain or some emo kid or something??? what the hell.... no instrumental track (that's where i miss Cliff Burton)

Never heard this song before ?

Here's a better example of his guitar abilities...

IMHO anytime a legend like SRV hands over the solo of one of his greatest songs to another player that player must be pretty spectactular.

And one of my favorites of his

not too bad. i hope the drums get tuned better in the studio version. i like the solo. it has something to it. i wish for much more, expect much more but at least i got thru the whole song, unlike St. Anger where i stop the songs 1 minute into them

yes he does. when he cut his long hair from the early 90's he became 3 feet shorter, and his head became the size of a giant pineapple. and i have no fucking clue how long he needs to live in the US with a heavy metal band where the vocalist is a fucking cowboy to realize he needs to ditch the speedo-like shorts that he wears.

Just got it in the mail. I am listening to it for the first time. It's a tad st. anger-reload-ish in terms for his vocals.

im listening to The End of The Line. i give it like 6/10

i listened to That was Just Your Life. not bad at all. it's good ol' metallica, but still aint no masters of puppets. i just dont like his vocals at all.....
solo's are good.... kirk is the one who who knows his shit lol, good thing the drums are clean not transh-can sounding

i can see me speeding thru these songs really easily. pretty pumping. like i said earlier i could never get thru a whole song of St. Anger, always shut it off after like a minute into the song
