Whenever I go home, my dogs jump down from the couch and give my a "Hail Hitler" salute. They don't harass or even touch me, unless I let them. That's the way it should be.

Regarding dog poop - I don't care - they're not pooping in my house. Cats on the other hand, poo indoors on their dirty litter and oh btw - those litters can harbor some crazy ass airborne bacteria - hence the reason why if you're a pregnant lady you shouldn't have them around.

Whenever I walk into a place with cats, I can smell cats. If you walk into a home with dogs, you can't smell the dogs. They just don't smell.

EDIT: by the way, what are some small cat breeds? My g/f wants a cat now but she wants one that will remain relatively small in size even during adulthood...

WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING??!

Every single friend of mine that had a dog, their houses smelled like a freaking dog. Cats are the cleaniest animals.. they hate being dirty.
dog smell is notorious!

Cats just have distinctive smells. I don't know if it's their breath, fur, litter, whatever - but there is simply no denying that they smell like something...like 'cats'.

Dogs are only dirty if they're not raised properly, never bathed, etc. They also only have bad breath if you give them a poor diet. If you let our dog play outside every single day and never clean them, of course they'll smell!

Yes but to say that cats smell more than dogs is ridiculous. Maybe you're used to that "dog smell". Plus my kitty wasnt allowed inside. She was an outdoor cat, our garage was her home. But she never ventured too far, only in our yard.

If people keep their dogs outside, then yes their home wont smell, but keeping a dog inside is plain gross (unless its a small dog.)

My two dogs live indoors.

I know they don't smell because my friends come over and they can't smell anything.

That's funny you should mention the "getting used to smell" concept because my big bro has two cats and I can *definitely* smell cat once that door opens. But he can't smell a thing anymore even after a long day of work.

Lol, I would like a Porsche as a second car someday. BMWs and Porsches are currently my favorite brands.

Our dogs run around the place and eat horse poo all day and our cats stay out of my way and kill mice when necessary......guess who I'm beginning to favor??

Although when I'm 85kms away at work I like having two Dobies on patrol here at home.

Hey, stew - my next dog I'm planning to get once I get a house is a doberman (and will name him Dobie, too - what were the odds?!) Nice to hear that you have two patroling the house - you just happen to land a pair of them? Or would just one be too lonely? Your dobies have their ears cropped and tails docked?

We adopted one from some suburbanites about 2 years ago, and we bought the other one as a puppy last December.

They're crazy as puppies, but now he is settling down (since he was "fixed"), and is quite handsome running around the yard. He is also quite loud and scary when he barks.

Sweeet! ... When I sold my 996 a few months back the guy came to my home for the Stock parts after we swaped money and slips at the bank. I told him to stay for dinner cuz I could not see the car go....the guy who bought it was like "dude you can come visit it if you want"

Damn that was a dog day afternoon!.... had to throw that in there to stay on topic.... I still prefer cats
