Wife is South African. Family lives in Pietermaritzburg and brother in law lives in Sandton. We spend several weeks there every year.

Have a flat in Ramsgate as well as some rentals in Umhlanga and Four Ways.

Shame man, I've got a 2005 Tazz just sitting over there - you could have used it....




0-100 in...well.....it might eventually get to 100kmh, I'm not sure.

Ah ok.

Having said that the areas you mentioned are mostly English speaking.

You have also probably then heard the term "bakkie" which means small pickup. Don't know where that term came from.

0-100 in that depend on temp, wind direction and whether on an uphill or downhill.....

Oh yes, the father in law drives a bakkie - I believe it is a Ford Bantam.

My wife is a total "Poppie", so she speaks fluent Afrikaans but is also quite adept at isiZulu.

Very true. Coming down to PMB out of the Midlands I can get it up to 120, ha!

Getting over to Umhlanga? Not a chance! It fairs rather poorly in Joburg as well due to elevations.
