1986 Suburban 2WD with a 454. Had to work just to feed it fuel.
Hand me down from my dad. Lasted me a year or two throughout highschool. Then I ended up giving it to my grandfather so he could pull his boats. |

1977 Toyota Celica - which I used to get a job and save up until I had enough to buy my next car - a 1969 Dodge Charger factory big block car. That was quite a change to say the least! LOL

I was given an old 1989 Pontiac Sunbird SE from my mom alter she bought an RX7.
After i got a my first FT job I bought a GC8 2.5RS coupe. Was considering the Integra GSR....but was caught up with the whole Colin McRae's 555 WRX culture in Gran Turismo. |

My parents got my sister a 1984 Honda hatchback for college. She never changed the oil and beat it up pretty good. After she graduated I inherited the car (my first vehicle) and had it through high school and college. I think I changed the oil once? It was so reliable I'm still shocked till this day how it withstood such abuse. I eventually traded it in with 230k on the odometer. Hands down the most reliable car I've ever owned.

1988 Volvo 740 Turbo Wagon my parents gave me in ~2003. Black with black interior and black tinted windows - 'The Swedish hearse.'
Thing was awesome, loaded, and did 0-60 in the 7's which actually made it kind of a sleeper. |

Same as above. I had the stereo installed 2 long weeks later It did come with 14” wheels and summer tires My insurance was $50 more per month than the car payment. Loved it. But it was broken into 3 times and smashed into twice. So it only lasted 3 years for me. I loved that car.

In 1992, when I turned 16, I inherited a 1976 El Camino that my father bought new, the year I was born. He taught me, my mother and my sister how to drive in that behemoth. My friends, whose parents bought them new cars at 16, made fun of me for my vehicle....until they raced me. I soon gathered much respect for dust trails left behind the tailgate in that equivalent of a vehicular hermaphrodite.
After I turned 18, graduated high school and moved out, I was told that the El Camino stayed. It was bitter sweet. I missed having my own wheels, fast wheels at that but it was time to purchase my own. In '96, I bought a maroon 1991 Ford Probe GT and thought that car was everything. Sometime in 2009, I encountered this vehicle again. Two 20 something year old kids had it and had locked the keys in the trunk while changing a flat tire. I, of course, showed them how to break into the trunk and got their keys back out for them. The look of astonishment on their faces, when I did it so quickly, was fantastic. They asked how I knew how to do that and then explained that this was my car 13 years ago. I was amazed that it was still on the road. |
