- Large dirt/gravel trucks that don't have tops and are throwing rocks all over the road and onto your car!!!
- People who use their washer fluid on the freeway only to have their crud land on your windshield. - People who drive old smog factories and force cars behind them to inhale their fumes. - People who tailgate at 85 mph for 5 minutes, cuts you off, and then proceed to drive 86 mph in the lane infront of you. - People who drive 50 mph past elemantry schools when school has just gotten out. - People/person who crashes their car into another car and does nothing to help the victim in the other car because he is too drunk to move. Where then the victim in the other crushed car proceeds to burn to death just weeks after she graduated UCLA. - People/person who hit and ran from the dog that belong to person who burned in the car crash. Forcing my girlfriend to take the barely breathing animal to the vet where they have to put him to sleep; only months after her sister died. |

This reminds me of an incident, ironically where the other driver was in a bimmer (335i IIRC). It happened near New Haven, CT, where I91 ends and one needs to merge on to either I95 N or S or take the exit into "downtown" New Haven. I91 is 4 lanes up until this point, where two fork slightly - of these two, the left one goes on to I95 South and the right one exits into town. The two lanes then themselves separate, and a median increasingly opens up between them as one goes relatively straight and other further to the right.
I'm on the I95S-bound lane at this point, when the E90 suddenly realizes he might be going the wrong way (mind you, there have been plenty of signs indicating which lane goes which way), and moves over a significant median into the I95S-bound lane, cutting me and everyone else off. I had to hit the brakes pretty hard. I hit the horn too, primarily for two reasons. Hitting the brakes hard on the freeway is a sign of potentially dangerous behaviour, so I wanted to let the E90 driver know that he had pulled a potentially dangerous and totally d'bag maneuver. I also wanted to wake up any dozing drivers behind me, so that we wouldn't get rear-ended. Several minutes later, I find myself on the left lane on I95 stuck behind, of all people, the same E90 driver. Sometimes going as slow as the center/right slower lanes. After a while of this, I high-beamed him as a sign that he either needs to speed up on the left lane or move over to the right. Now, I've heard some people in places like Cali. will take this like a red rag to a raging bull, but here it's not quite the same declaration of road rage war (at least, not in moderation). So after a while of holding up left-lane traffic, we finally reach a slightly more open stretch of road - I figure that he will either move to the right, now that it's more open, or that we'll have to overtake him on the right. Guess what? He stays at his grandma-esque pace in the left lane. So I signal and hit the gas, knowing my unbelievably torquey Corolla rental will be past the 335i in no time. To my shock, horror, and dismay, the Corolla is unable to muster its horses quickly enough before the E90 driver speeds up to cut me off (again) in this lane. 'Speeding up' is a relative term here, as our speeds may have gone up 2-3 MPH in the intervening few seconds. I figure he belatedly realized he was holding up left-lane traffic and finally moved over to the right to let people through. So I signal to the left and hit the gas, summoning the strength of 100-odd horses galloping in 4 pots. Unbelievably, the E90 guy speeds up (barely a twitch of his right foot, I'm guessing) and moves to the left, cutting us off once again. Unbelievable, I think, there's no way all these manuevers could be intentional. So I move right, and get cut off once again, this time a little brake-check adding further d'baggery and potential danger to the mix. I weigh my options. I wonder if I can call his bluff, if he'll really cut me off again as I'm about to pass, full (Corolla) steam ahead. I calculate the chances of getting alongside (or even getting to the rear fender) before being cut off are slim to none. I wonder if a little feint might work. Signal to change lanes when close behind him, and then slam the gas straight ahead as the 335 changes lanes. I figure it's likely enough the E90 will swerve back, either swerving ahead of us, i.e. calling my bluff and forcing me to brake OR simply swerve into us in the off chance that we might have gotten anywhere close to being abreast of him. The obvious answer, with two passengers, is none of the above. The fact that it's Corolla vs 335 just ruins the faint chances of success altogether. So mentally I call an end to this particular d!ck-measuring game of Chicken. I decide to invest in the 'Out of Sight, Out of Mind' theory of d'bag avoidance. I blend into traffic that is slightly slower, and less than a couple minutes later, neither of us can see the other. 5 minutes later, we join a faster procession in the left lane and, a few minutes after that, we eventually pass, without incident, the d'bag E90 driver sandwiched between two tracto-trailers to our right. |

people who try to merge or change lane at the last minute/seconds on a fast and heavy traffic. saw a lexus once spun multiple times on the freeway after merging to 5N from 91W on the last second (right about where Shelly BMW is for those familiar). luckily he didnt hit me cause he was beside me and i saw his nose pointing on my rear passenger door side and luckily the last spin put the car by the exit. i saw the cars behind the lexus stopped. cant people just exit and go around to get to the right freeway?

Don't you just love the asshats that "change lanes" in the lane that merges? I always love pissing them off by moving over to so they can't get by, and then they realize the lane ends.

Drivers who floor it and then slam on their brakes in stop and go traffic. In LA, I'm sitting in traffic and leave about 10 car lengths in front of me because I know what's going to happen: I'll just roll on idle and everyone in front of me is going to come to a stop in 10 seconds anyway and I'll catch up. So I always get the retards behind me going apeshit in their car because I'm leaving so much space. What do they do? Tailgate me within three feet, then swerve into the other lane, floor it, give me the finger as they are passing, swerve in front of me, floor it for another three seconds and then slam on their brakes because of the traffic in front of them.
I've been thinking about making a video and taping all these idiots. It's mind boggling how these guys in LA can't see but 10 feet in front of their car. This is why we have traffic and why we use so much gas. |

Ha, come on... 99% of the time people braking are doing it b/c they're fucken awful drivers. Braking unnecissairly, braking constantly/ riding the brakes... 99.8% of the people that drive on the roads SUCK, so statistically they're probably not heel-toe'ing.

One of my many peeves is the guy that tailgates the car in front and blinks the brakes every 100 yds.
Another is one that drives around with the rear fog light on with visibility better than half a mile. Driving with parking lights. They're not called "parking lights" for nothing. I think the auto makers should be required to redesign the light switch so that the headlights come on at the first position and the parking lights only at the second.

Plus the people with really bright fog lights who drive around with their fog lights on and no headlights are just as bad.

Something that just happened to me this afternoon on my way home...Tailgaters...
I passed this MK4 Jetta, driven slowly by some young kid and his friends in the car with him. I went in front of him because my exit was approaching...he then sped up and proceeded to tailgate me...

There are a lot of things that piss me off on the road every day but I just try and let them go as they're not worth the headaches. Although I'm sure I might be guilty of one of those things one time or another.
