As a Ferrari fan since 1986, this kind of decision is getting hard to defend. I don't want FIA/stewards to favour Ferrari. No-one wants that. Hamilton was faster and would have got past anyway. Kimi stuffed it into the wall too!

If I remember he retired few laps later, pretty sure he would have gotten nailed with a penalty.

Yeah...but remeber his antics about serving a drive through penalty on the last lap in the pit lane. I was a Kimi fan when he was at Mclaren. I hate Ferrari's. This is complete BS.
Even Lauda is telling the same. This will kill the sport.

I'm not sure did the sporting regulation changed....
But if he cannot serve the 25-second penalty or drive thru....he will have to serve a 10 spot penalty on the next race....

I think the penalty is COMPLETE BS. This is not about Lewis Hamilton. It's about right and wrong. This decision is just plain wrong. Sign petition if you agree.

I'm not a fan of McLaren, and I absolutely despise Hamilton.

BUT, this penalty is a joke. Lewis cut the corner, but he immediately gave the position back to Kimi. Lewis had been closing on him for the last few laps, and had no problem passing him legally.

Hamilton should never have been penalised, he won it fair and square. Everyone saw what happened. Damn the FIA. Hope he wins the first ever night race here in SINGAPORE!

P.S Anyone coming here to watch it?

I am not a McLaren nor a Hamilton fan but the penalty was extreme. I am not saying he was not in violation of the sporting reg because I do not think he completely gave back the position but it had no effect on the outcome.

Even if Hamilton back off before the chicane, he will be right on the gearbox of Raikkonen...i don't see he took ANY advantage taken....

I think that the main thing here is Kimi took himself out... there's no one to blame. Lewis shouldn't even be a factor.

well...the reason why the stewards penalize Hamilton was that he cut the chicane and took "advantage"....that's all the press release from the FIA....

***Check this vid out***

This guy has the analysis down. No advantage = no penalty. Watch and see.

that's why i quoted "advantage"....
hamilton was neck to neck ...or right behind kimi....
so after the chicane incident...and let kimi passed...he's still right behind him....so where's the "advantage"???

shoundn't kimi has more advantage by throuttle up his F2008 earlier than hamilton...just that he chicken out and brake earlier than hamilton while entering Le Source....and Hamilton out-brake him and overtook him there.....
