Turbo's 100% depreciate more than any other model, Carrera's always tend to hold their value better. There are a bunch of low milage (under 5k miles) Turbo's and a few Turbo S' for the price of a well equipped S or GTS around the $130-160 price point on websites like autotrader or cars.com, most low milage Turbo S' seem to be above $160 and below $170.
Targas, and especially Targa GTS’ don’t lose much value. Turbo S usually drop 75-100k in 5-7 years depending on how crazy options were and then flatten out. Overall, not bad as if you see some depreciation on other cars that are both more expensive and less expansive, the turbos do pretty well.

Yeah I call BS on the Turbo resale mentioned above. Now, there seem sto be a LOT of Turbo models for sale but the price point is solidly higher than an S or even a GTS unless the GTS is particularly well specced .

Well, here's one for 72K. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...1181/overview/

Plenty of other examples. There is still a pretty big price difference between these and regular 911 S or 4S models from the same year, but the Turbo has most definitely fallen way way more in terms of money.

I don't disagree that they have not held their value as well from a percentage stand point, the sheer volume of them on the market suggests as much too.

Not to burst your bubble but that car is 2007 turbo which is now 14 year old and the new MSRP was 134k. So it has dropped 62k in 14 years or about 4.4k per year over that entire time period. Damn good if you ask me.

I was comparing same generation cars. The 2014 I posted is a 991.1 and is definitely more than a same generation, same year S. Same would hold on a 2007 S vs turbo. There was no turbo S in 2007.

That's not a Turbo S and even if it was, a 2007 S model is going to be around $35-40k with similar mileage. You can compare any model year you want, the Turbo S is always going to be much higher priced than an S or GTS. 997 GTS have closed the gap on same generation Turbo S a little bit, but still lower.

You just listed a 13+ year old car...

If anything it supports the other side of the argument.

Exactly. The thing I love about Porsche and 911s is that they as a semi-exotic can be driven HARD and you can put decent miles on and they still hold value. Cars like Ferrari’s, it is looked down upon to drive more than a couple thousand miles per year unless you’re willing to take a huge hit. As I said above, put 60k miles on a 2014 Ferrari and it will lose a heck of a lot more than a turbo or turbo S do in terms of % of the cars msrp.
