That’s pretty much where I stand. I’ve got my “overflow” bin of random sockets that I was going to toss it in if I can’t find a solution.
There you go!

I checked out those machined socket holders...those things are pretty sweet and for $15. That's not too bad honestly. I might pick up some up and give em a try. Especially for my torx, hex, and swivels.

Any *real* toolbox has a full row of 10mm sockets! Gotta have enough spares to finish a project, plus you can easily take inventory by sight to know that you need to order more.....

Anyone aware of a socket tray for 1/2" drive that includes 9mm - 22mm (or higher)? I swear every last one I find starts at 10mm with exception of Westling...but they are way too expensive (CNC machined and engraved trays) and to get to 22mm I would need two separate trays. I just like the simple plastic ones that are "rods" with the size indicated. I've got about 140 sockets between SAE, metric, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 I need to get on. I feel like I've got a good grip on 1/4 and 3/8 sockets, but this stupid little 9mm for 1/2 drive is blowing the deal.

Something like this, but inclusive of 9mm:

I thought this was the ticket, but that damn 9mm

I don't have them, but I wish I did:
https://www.tekton.com/tool-storage/socket-organization

Make sure to add labels to the cart, they are free.

If you are truly OCD, then go with Matco's Tool Grid setup (or just use it as a good idea and build your own):

Also to all,
Read up on Tekton's warranty policy. I know what I'll be switching over to as I break shit.

I drilled a few holes in the top and put a small vise on. It's just a 3rd hand that I'm sure I can find use for.

Rethinking that metal top - I do mostly car stuff and wood work. Maybe if I welded or did more metal fab I'd prefer the metal top?
This is the way to go if you can afford to stretch a little more. I've got a huge snap-on in my garage I paid $2.8k for and it retails at $12k.

Spend the money and get something you will hand down to your kids someday.

for pliers and other stuff i picked up this organizer which really helped keep things in order

i used two of these to organize all my torx, allen sockets and what not

and these organizers for my wrenches

these for my screwdrivers set

and for the sockets i bought a bunch of these in black and blue
