Anyone knows a great website for porsche owners? I am thinking about 911 for my next car but wanted to check the private classified section first before I check the stealer

Rennlist, 6speedonline, teamspeed! All of these have active 911 sections.

6speed isn't as great as it used to be. Rennlist is far and away the best in my opinion

For forums the above suggestions are great. But if you want classifieds definitely check autotrader.com
Lots of private ads to be found. |

Pelican Parts Technical BBS for the most knowledgeable people and the most mature (6speed gets too juvenile with a lot of newbies and baller types, imho.) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/
And, as already mentioned: Rennlist. It's also more mature. http://forums.rennlist.com/ There's also a forum started up by the original owner of Rennlist (Rennlist was sold to Internet Brands not too long ago.) It's called Reutterwerk. It's not super active, but it also has the same type of members like Pelican and Rennlist. http://reutterwerk.com/forums/index.php p.s., if you're shopping, then give these guys a call to help you find the car you want (if not buying new.) http://www.truspeedmotorcars.com/ |

I forgot about Pelican Parts (how that is, don't ask me). I agree with stickypaws that the most knowledgeable people you can find on a Porsche forum will be there. Very down to business and they seem genuinely interested in whatever you ask/post about. It has that family feel to it.

As stickypaws said: Pelican parts or rennlist for the 911. Many pros there that can answer ANY questions. For the 912 try the 912 bbs. 356?..the 356 registry. 911S: 911S registry. Good luck with your new Porsche!

Anyone know of a Porsche forum like Bimmerpost?
Hey guys,
I may be moving to Porsche soon, so I know I'll still be on here and Bimmerfest, but I was just curious if there was a dedicated Porsche forum like these BMW forums. To be even more specific, a Panamera forum would also be great as well (don't hate me )

http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/panamera-75/ Well, as least the Panamera is slightly better looking than the 550GT.... |

None as good or with as many users as bimmerpost, but another one to try would be planet-9.com.

I know I might come across as biased when I say this because of my moderator status, but Bimmerpost is hands down the best automotive enthusiast forum out there.
6speedonline is decent. MBWorld is the best there is out there for the Mercedes crowd.

Like I've said before, a stock GT can look quite hideous, but I feel as if my mods have made the car look more appealing, and from the response I was given (posts on my thread) when the car was featured, most seemed to agree with me. I plan on doing that with the Panamera as well. Both are incredible cars, quite spacious and luxurious on the inside, very unique when modded, and both have the ability to drive small (esp. the Panamera, that car is brilliant).

IMO the reason this site is so good is the lack of annoying sponsor thread bumps. Seriously, ridiculously annoying to have stupid threads selling shit few want that are bumped wayyyy too often.

I agree that this is one of the best automitive forums around. It's very clean and not cluttered up like most other sites.

I went from e92 to 970 too. Sure miss the BMW forums here though. Porsche forums are lame! But I am on 6speed.
Wanna retrofit or re-code something? Forget asking the forum for advice, there default response is to pay the dealer for any modification. Love my 4S though.

Bumping this thread.
It is amazing how good Bimmerpost is compared to the rest. I just purchased a 987 and have been scouring the web looking for a proper forum. All of them are mixed and matched. Let's say I want to look at just 987 wheels and tires -too bad, I will have to search google or read through the "987 mod" thread. LAME Maybe I am splitting hairs, but the M3 post area is full of information and the forums are separated nicely. The organization makes it easy to find answers. |
