Spaghetti is freaking cheap...Meat + Mushrooms + Onion + Sauce + Noodles = Cheap as hell and EASY to make. If you buy meat in bulk at Sam's it's pretty cheap. What me and my buddy do since we are rooming together for the semester is switch off our meals, we make the same two things pretty much since it's cheap, lol.

Spaghetti as stated above, for variation we switch it up, either alfredo or tomato sauce. Put a bit of olive oil in pan drop in meat with garlic and black pepper, add mushrooms after like two minutes, cook meat and mushrooms until meat is no longer pink/red, pour sauce in heat on medium/low until its bubbling all the way through. For pasta get fettucine noodles as they are widest, any brand works and for a pound of pasta its like $1.30 cooks in a pot for 13 minutes or so.

Meat, Rice, Potato Salad, Corn/Blackbeans, On the Border chips = Great dinner. Get the stew meat from Sam's which look kinda like little hunks of beef, marinate it in some italian dressing and cook it in the pan with freshly ground salt/pepper. Just regular rice, simple to cook, Uncle Ben's is the easist. Microwave corn/blackbeans. And get the 5lb. bucket of red potato salad at Sam's for like $4, and have chips too from Sam's with Valentina hot sauce. In fact I'm having that for dinner tonight.
Good ideas here. I make spaghetti and it lasts me an entire week.

LMAO!!!

A girl at work eats that shit and she's "trying" to lose weight. I told her that's the dumbest, most worthless thing she can eat. "But it's so easy and I only eat it once a day."

I've tried to educate her, but she think she knows better.

Buy the cheap store brand cereals that are in the plastic sealed bags. They're usually quite a bit cheaper. Although I have certain types priced similar to the name brand stuff, just shop around. If you can eat Wheat Puffs or Rice Puffs (i love them and they're good for you since nothings in them) they are $0.99 at Kroger.

As for milk, looks for coupons in the paper, or on websites. I don't know if this site is only for Texas, but worth a look.

http://coupons.smartsource.com

Also, shop at Sam's, Costco, or whatever similar stores they have in Cali. BUY IN BULK! Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Toothpaste, Tuna, Chicken, etc.

Remember you can freeze meats so if you're not going to use them. I cook the big packs of chicken from Sam's once a week. Usually contain 10-12 chicken breasts. I eat 2 breasts a day, Monday thru Friday.

In college I shopped at walmart since there was no Sam's/Costco. I spent ~$150 and the food lasted once a month. But prices have gone up since then.

If you can't afford food, then it's a good idea to sell your new Bimmer.

I'm just fed up seeing people driving their new Bimmers and they can't even afford food, gas, or rent.

With you 100%. Couple weeks ago, I spent $100 going out three times with my girl. For $100, you can load up with enough food for three WEEKS. Everything on your list I have and another benefit besides the money you save is it's healthier too.

Don't just live off of oatmeal and ramen. Terrible. Your girlfriend, if you have one, would be able to beat your Mcluvan ass. lol

Yeah, I don't get it. If you need a bimmer to get a date, then sell the car and go beat off more. If you can't afford it, why have it?

one word, sandwich. u get glucide (bread), Vitamins(salad) and protein (meat+cheese) in a good ratio and its portable. Just wrap up like 10-15 every 2 weeks and it saves a lot of time as well.

I say this because I lift weights through my studies and nutrition is one of the main factors of keeping your body healthy.
