Well, they never showed up and were kind of clueless when I called them asking what's up. Beware if you schedule a test drive with them, they don't seem to have it all figured out yet.

That's a shame to hear. To think they could have made it so much easier by simply selling them at Volvo dealers. The marketing direction behind Polestar is truly perplexing.

ETron is apparently going the same way. Dealers suck, I'll take my chances with the internet. This is how manufacturers are going to kill their connection to the dealer network.

I should have a few hours with one this weekend. Meeting with the GM at Polestar San Jose to discuss this evening. Will be making a video review, I'll share it here!

Spent 3 hours in the Polestar 2 Performance (dual motor). IMO it's a great car for what it is. Drives and handles really well, you can turn traction control off which is nice, steering feel is adjustable and nice in the firmest setting. Fit/finish obviously leagues ahead of Tesla. It's the only car that I've seen (only car on the market?) that runs Android native, so the display feels like an Android interface. There's a button for Google Assistant on the steering wheel which in our testing works perfectly. 0-60 in 4.5 I believe, feels pretty fast and accelerates quickly up to 80-90.

Range is terrible compared to Tesla. May be a good car, but range is a killer out of the gate.

From what I heard sales are absolutely dismal, like they've only moved a few hundred of them dismal. That's probably why there's been very aggressive advertising/PR for this car recently.

Aside from the dorky styling the car seems totally fine. If it sat low like a proper sedan it could look nicer, but Volvo knows that higher seating position is what the masses want.

I don't think they're being aggressive enough. Haven't heard about the Polestar 2 since the initial reviews. Volvo has done and abysmal job of marketing this vehicle, no one knows it exists, even less so than Genesis. Should have called it a Volvo and sold it at Volvo dealers. Volvo keeps touting their all electric future and digital car sales but hasn't really done a good job at delivering in my opinion.

I understand the logic behind creating the "Polestar" brand, but it doesn't seem to be paying off so far. If these cars were badged as Volvos they'd likely have greater awareness to the public.

I don’t think it’s the badge, but more like the car was too expensive for what it offered. The only issue I have with it now is that their tech pack should really be standard. If they had that, I’m picking one up for Christmas….or whenever the shortages clear.

Saw 2 this morning at local Cars and coffee…man they’re ugly looking thing. Body lines don’t flow at all and being $50k+

I don’t understand the logic behind it. It’s going to be such a small niche market for the design and especially the price tag. Sure Volvo enthusiasts might take a look but what’s percentage of them out there?

With the dual motor this thing easily hit $55k+. Sure there's the federal tax hand out but even then it is expensive relative to 3-series, Model 3, A4, C-class, etc. Plus something about the car looks appliancey.

Looks like our Model 3 is scheduled to arrive this week (finally). While the Polestar was good, I didn't find myself wanting to drive it again. Glad we decided to wait it out. Looking back, the only memorable thing about this car was its acceleration, although it wasn't the same "in your face" sudden boost from other EV's I've driven. For 60K, it really had nothing to offer over the 20K cheaper Tesla.

Sounds like perfect timing. Tesla's value (and especially their charging network) is definitely hard to beat. Will you be replacing the 330 or will the Model 3 be an addition?

It will be an addition/replacement for our beloved F34. Still seems to be the best EV experience overall as of right now.

Agree it is the best EV out there, especially for those who actually want to travel as Superchargers are vastly superior to the unreliable Electrify America chargers.

There's a single location for Electrify America near me, inside a Pavillions parking lot. All 8 of them always occupied by Fiat 500e's and Taycans. The ease of mind knowing I can take the Tesla anywhere and always have a Supercharger nearby is unbeatable. Although I remember reading that Tesla is opening Supercharger access to other EV's later this year. Wonder how that will go.

There is a Polestar 2 on display at the Scottsdale Fashion Square (an upscale mall with a Lucid design studio, a Tesla store and a Solo display as well) by the food court.

I stopped by one day and asked the Polestar rep what kind of leather was on the seats. He gave me a helpless look. They have not put anyone trained to answer questions by the car.

Polestar is getting a 16% hp bump via OTA update. That’s like a Stage 1 flash tune for BMW. However, this update will cost you $1,130. 472 hp after the update will definitely bring this rather unpopular car closer to the acceleration levels of Model 3 Performance. Is this enough to make people choose this over Tesla? Probably not.
