No harm switching to it any time. Sport mode just gives you a more sensitive throttle pedal and keeps the exhaust valve open. It's not any harder on the car in itself. The thing you want to avoid for now is revving it out.

I have put it in Sports + when sitting at a red light to tease the car next to me with the sounds from the exhaust. Trust me, it is difficult but I haven't floored it yet.

Thanks for sharing, that was a great video to watch and is exactly what I am looking to view while driving.

I am not sure if I have that option in the HUD of the Z4 M40i model. I will look for it this afternoon.

Yeah, mine only pops up if I am in sport/sport plus mode. I think it'd be odd the M340i has it and not the Z4, but who knows.

Thanks for sharing. It looks like the Z4 M40i does not have "M Mode" or "M View" as shown in the video that RigaTony1982 posted so I am SOL.

Here are pictures of my options for the HUD and also the version of my software which says I am up to date.
