I would like to add to how I am now going to wash my G83. My detailed wrapped and ceramic coated my car. I went back 2 weeks later to have a follow up inspection. He clean the entire car in less than 30 minutes using a rinseless wash and a few towels. The wheels he cleans easy as well. He just sprayed Americana's Global Breakdown wheel cleaner and let it sit for a few minutes and sprayed it off.

Americana wheel cleaner surprised me and made me happy I will not have to spend huge amount of time cleaning the wheels. I ended up buying a gallon of this so I can just apply once a week and power wash it off.

I didn't even use a towel with my 130mph gas Stihl model. Only wiped down glass if needed. My car is fully ceramic coated. My new EGO is rated at 200mph with the turbo button. Have not tried on the car yet, but had to blow out some wet leaves out of the gutter hanging out my second story window from a distance. And all I can say is this bad boy is a monster. Super impressed.

We already had a Cobalt 500 cfm blower, before the revelation of using it to help dry the car .. so I just bought a second 80V battery. Agree it's great for clearing 90% of the water and eradicating water from the 'drip reservoirs' (mirrors, license plate, grilles, etc). I utilize a couple different OG-recommended drying towels for pulling up the remaining droplets.

I still prefer the 2-bucket washing method, though, plus a set of brushes for rims/tires (primarily Wheel Woolies, I think they're often called): big one for the barrels, small one for the crevices, medium one for the spokes.

Another game-changer for me was a separate soft-bristle detail brush for washing around emblems and other areas a wash fit tends to miss.

Just (impatiently) waiting for a Kranzle pressure washer to arrive, as a step up from garden hose .. heck, the wait time for it is approaching that of the car itself!

Curious if you hear a whining noise coming from the battery when it's charging. I've only charged mine once but it sounded weird.

Yep, sounds like it's about to take off sitting here in my kitchen.

Assuming it's a fan to keep it cool while charging? Seems like it's charging up pretty quickly.

Yep, normal noise what with the fan to keep it cool whilst charging 🙂

I used it over the weekend to clean up in preparation of Easter and it worked really well. Looking forward to getting the stubby nozzle from Etsy (thanks Limegrntaln ) and using it after a wash.

Yessir, works great. I was a little confused on how to remove it, because it doesn't have any clips, but you just squeeze the top and bottom and it slides off with ease. The rubber tip is a must. The tips come in many colors.

Yep, I got the red tip to match my calipers.

My workaround for now is my Festool extractor that allows you to plug the hose into a secondary outlet, reversing the airflow to blow (if that makes sense)
Very powerful, but no matter how much I try and nail it the car still bleeds water hours later. This is a PITA with a frozen paint finish, if you attempt to wipe up the water runs later there sure to have grit in them. Already I've managed to lay down a few spider web type scratches and I'm very fussy about my wash routine.

Is there something particularly special about EGO blowers (vs. others)? Been looking for a new leaf blower anyway lol.

I'm not sure that the EGO blowers are any better than others with similar power and battery size, however, it seems they've developed a bit of a cult following in the detailing industry (Obsessed Garage, as an example) and the stubby nozzle was built for their machines specifically.

Note to OP and others: just because you don't see dirt on the roof doesn't mean that it's not there. The convertible top is just as dirty as the rest of the car. Wash it. Just make sure that it's totally dry before folding down the top.

I'd add more, but now I'm off to start shopping for my new blower.

Really thinking about grabbing one of these. My Ryobi does a good job on the panels but I can never get in the hard to reach areas.

How do you like it?

I like it a lot. The only drawback is it needs to be plugged in. I use it mostly for door jambs, trunk and wheels. If your car is ceramic coated, it will make quick work for it.

Just ended up getting the bigger unit. I'll report back how it works once I get it.
