This. I always try to get at least the Plus/Extra option if not business.

So they recline their seat, I recline my seat, the guy reclines his seat behind me, and we all continue our lives normally slightly more comfortably for a 5 hour flight.
If you don't recline than no one has this problem though....and what about the people in the last row who can't recline? They're just out of luck?

Unless there is an extenuating circumstance behind me, absolutely. On shorter flights, I don't recline all the way - just enough to get a little room.

Recline your seat in front of me all day long... just don't use the top of my seat as a handle/shaker/climbing-hold behind my head!! hahahahaa.... gah!

I never do but I am a tall guy and hate when the person in front of me reclines so I try to live by the golden rule. I am an overly courteous person in general though, unlike most.

Ive been in the last row and been able to recline.

I have lower back pain in uncomfortable chairs that dont support my back. Sitting bolt upright makes that worse. Im not sitting in pain for 5 hours just because some karen behind me gets infuriated over something so freaking miniscule.

Ive literally never had an issue with someone reclining in front of me other than possibly having to slide the tray forward a bit to clear my laptop screen. I'm 6ft and long legged so I usually go for the upgraded seats anyway though anymore but even on Southwest I don't ever recall a problem. This is someone "looking" for an issue to complain about. I suspect the people complaining about this like its some horrendous pain are the same ones who were dying being asked to put a cloth mask on.

For me - only in first class, or if the seat behind me is unoccupied in coach.

To recline in coach with someone sitting behind you is brutal punishment to someone you don't even know.

The angle can make a difference though on those flat as a board seats. Putting a jacket or small pillow down there then allows me to put pressure on my lower back compared to bolt upright.

Yep - usually just a click or 2 because my back locks up if I sit straight up. People in front of me usually do too. It's their space is how I see it. I've had drinks spilled on me, stuff knocked over, etc. It sucks, but it's part of air travel. It's not even CLOSE to the most annoying thing about air travel.......LOL

I didn't say anything and just stared out the window.

Judging by the obviousness of her support garment underpinnings, I think she enhanced things on purpose, just to get the stares.

No. It's an unspoken agreement for 80% of business flyers not to recline the seat. I carry that unspoken agreement into my personal travel as well.

If the mood strikes. Recently on these cheap Allegiant flights the seats don't recline at all and they are hard as fuck. They do a number on me even on the short 2 hour flight.

If the person in front of me reclines then it's basically mandatory. I remember the only really long flight I've taken was to Spain. That fucking plane was packed sooooo tight. I was in a center seat to boot and for some reason MY fucking seat was broken and would not recline, even though the other 2 seats next to me did. Of course the person in front reclined that shit all the way and I was squeezed in there for fucking like 10000 hours. I'm pretty sure that flight took a few years off my life.

Of course I recline my seat. The seats are made to recline so as to make long flights in coach a little more bearable. If you have an issue with me reclining my seat then perhaps you should fly business or 1st class. I personally would rather save my money for something much more fun than a slightly larger seat with a tiny bit more legroom like a few laps on the Nurburgring in a 718 GTS.

I recline the seat to a comfortable position, it's not a recliner but I'm not going to be uncomfortable because the person behind me wants to cross his or her legs.

I'm 6'1 so if someone reclines their seat (fully back) I can't help but kick the back of their chair. If they complain - that's on them because I don't have enough legroom. How about that?

No I don’t and think seats should either be spaced out more or not be made to recline.

I’ve actually seen people recline their seats and then proceed to lean forward in an effort to eat or read and prove they are the biggest asshole on the plane in the process.

All I can say is... I flew business class on Qatar Airways recently and had my own little room on the plane... I can't see myself ever going back to economy class after that experience.

What did that cost you? Like $25K?
