Soundaktor it is, and unlike the stupid BMW setup that pipes fake sound into your amp and out with your music, the Soundaktor is a mechanical device that's installed on the firewall, and resonates through the windshield. It actually sounds pretty good - like actual induction noise. A lot of people disable it but I don't mind it at all in my R. The BMW crap on the other hand was disabled the day I got my M2c home last year.

The i7 reviewed by AutoTopNL has a pretty lame fake sound generator.

Only the dumbest thief would steal a unique car. Want to get caught quickly? Steal a green Lamborghini. Want to be inconspicuous? Steal my white GTI. Cops don’t even register it.

Same reason I never really worried about someone stealing my M Coupe.
