Guys, I totally and utterly agree - the douchbag that TOLD me that is a moron. There are a multitude of reasons why someone buys a 135 over a M3. Not everyone wants to tie up huge amounts of money in an M3 - get the 135, similar performance for far less money and put the money elsewhere. hell some people are coming from M3s, M5s, Astons, Porsches yada yada to the 135
I guess the only people that make such statements like the above are people who can afford neither the 135 or the M3 I for one will be a very proud 135 owner |

am i the only that does not like all the styling of the new m3?
i HATE the tails (on all e90's except the 335i) ..the weird shape is like a retard pentgon's cousin The hood is over the top muscular and the stock rims are god awful...the 19s are decent step up Moonroof is extra, fold down seats are extra.... However the tech package is nicely put together and the leather options are gorgeous I am very happy with the 135i And i dont want the extra room in the back....only me the wife and the dog fit my .02 cents now flameeeeeeeeeee me

Haha...you guys are too funny. Honestly, if I could afford an M3 I would have it. No love lost for the 135i though.

In terms of extra costs: It's a little ridiculous that there isn't a no cost option for seating. The basic leather is a $995 "option". It's not a friggin' option. It's not like you can order the car without seats. Izzo, I'll go one further and say the sedan looks better than the coupe. It's all a matter of taste, but that's my $0.02.

just to much money for me to think about possibly totaling on the Track. Other than that I think the New M3 is the best all around car out there. and if I had the money for TWO new M3s I'd totally get one.

i just built an M3 off BMW's website and for the 62k+ it would cost, i'd rather buy a used c6 z06.. or for 62k i'd buy a Cayenne GTS... of course it's a little bit more, but if you can afford 62k, you can afford 68k...

If I had the money to buy or lease a M3, I would, but right now a 135i is perfect. It will still turn heads. AW+Coral Red

I don't understand your mean thread? First of all, many people can't afford an M3. OK... Second, the M3 is a gas PIG. And its not alot quicker. Insurance, gas, cost, etc. are for rich people, you must be one of these people. Must be nice, but maybe not if your angry/mean inside.

Jeff, if you are referring to the OP this is not a "mean" thread--it's a joke (note the smiley). We are all just trying to have a little fun while passing time waiting on the first cars to show up.

Nope, I totally agree. I'm not sure WTF BMW was thinking when they designed the new M3. I think the V8 killed it for me. To me it lost that, "I'm going to smoke you look." In my mind the e46 M3 will always be the standard to which all cars are set.

I work for BMW as many of you know and this has been a real struggle for me, and in all honesty i havent completly made my mind up.. I can afford either car but i have to say that the dollar for dollar bang for the buck car is an easy and clear choice..The 1er just can't be touched in the arena.. ahhh we shall see.
I look forward to trolling this thread.. |

I bought a 135i because it is the car that I wanted!! As stated before, why buy a car that is almost twice as expensive that only outperforms the 135i buy a margan that, with a few thousand investment will all but disapear.

I too worked for BMW for several years. I don't want anymore expensive hot-rods. Been there, done that. Just give me a smallish high quality daily driver, (diesel powered of course) that provides terrific milage and great resale value in a car that's tons of fun to drive.

Decided to pay cash for the 1'er, which is less than a 4 year lease on an M3, so I guess I put my money where my mouth is, heh.

I would first like to say hi to everyone. I just ordered my 135i the on Monday. I have been strolling through the forum and checking it out and decided to join.
There were several reasons why I bought the 135i. First off, I fell in love with the previous body style 3 series coupe. Do you guys remember that? I did not have the money to buy one at the time. When I saw the 135i, it reminded me of that body style, and i fell in love again. This is my first BMW. I am trading in my 06 350Z for this. I have not driven this car yet. From all of the reading i have done, it seems that the car is quicker that the Z, and an all around better car. Plus I am now looking for something more into the luxury side of cars but do not want to give up the sports car side of things. When people talk trash to me about getting the 135i and call it the cop out to the M3, I reply with 1) the 135i is not that much slower than the M3, to spend alot more money on a little more hp to me doesnt make since. 2) I turned 25 in November. If anyone wants to talk smack about me owning a $40K BMW at 25, I think I am doing pretty good (No one bought this car for me, I worked my way from nothing, growing up poor, to recently being hired as a regional manager to a Consulting Firm). 3) What are they driving? Usually its not a better car. I think the 135i is a great car, especially for people who dont have the money to spend on an M3. I believe everyone here is an addict for a reason, we all fell in love with a car that can not be outdone in its class. Others are just sweating it. I look foward to fighting many good fights for the 1 series |
