I’m doing the maths too, as you say. Not sure it makes sense this time.
There’s no residual value in a service pack if you sell ‘early’.
The 2000km service is €600 and big services €1500 -the latter being every 30k??
I’m planning to change my oil every 10k too -at a non-franchised specialist. Always had the fear I’d spin a bearing in my F10. So, I’ll mind this one!

Delivery’s is only early January, but at least I know the Christmas gift is already there

Options :
Marina bay blue
Ceramic brakes
Carbon interior trim
Comfort pack
Driving assistance pack

I did not win the tyre lottery and my “sports tyres” are Pirelli Pzero which will probably be dead in 8-10 months if the last as long as on my G80. They are good but not long.

Photos courtesy of my favourite salesman.
Make sure you tell them not to go near it with brushes or a mechanical car wash.
Might be a few “Sure ‘twil be grand’ “ merchants in Cahir!

The frozen black looks so mean. Amazing but i don't dare taking frozen paints if i need any kind of cosmetic repairs done.

Coming from my M3 with bucket seats and red interior this feels less special but its a comfortable place to be.

Can't wait for January for the delivery.
Jeez, three M5s in a row.
I’m slated for Jan 2, it’s ready and waiting bootliner & rubber mats in!
Can’t wait either!

There’s the run in service around 650 euro (1500-2000km) then the first service after that is at around 25k km if it’s like my other G8x. The big service would probably be around 35k ? Changing spark plugs and all that …
Now factor in the electric drivetrain , it might take way longer to hit the ICE mileage to those.

As far as I m told it’s only hand washed haha. But doesn’t matter It’s going straight for polish and ceramic coating. I hand washed haha my cars myself and the coating makes this way easier.

I sold my 545e privately a few months back in anticipation of the G90. Well used to the BMW PHEV servicing drill… I don’t think PHEV mileage is omitted from the total distance as it relates to servicing.

In simple terms: if a service is due at x mileage, the dash will start warning you at x -2000. It doesn’t matter the bias of propulsion.

So, when calculating, forget PHEV.

When you’ve figured it out, let me know! 🤣🤣🤣

I'm pretty sure the EV mileage doesn't count toward run in service mileage (which make sense, the ICE needs to have been used), but that might be the only one... There is an ICE mileage and overall mileage odometer.

650 run in service + 600 standard service + 1500 large service + 600 standard service = 3350 that would just start to offset the service pack and you might already be well into 3 years ownership ... so it depends really how long you're planning to keep it. For me it's not worth it i don't keep cars beyond warranty anyway.

Okay, so the acid test here is whether the car is squawking for a service bang on 2000k or it’s plus PHEV mileage.

I’d wager it’ll be 2000 flat.

I grabbed the manual from mine for some Christmas reading when I delivered the readies on Friday.

Here’s an excerpt on running-in… note the piece about the blended nature of both EV & ICE…

You’re spot on about keeping within warranty. It’s a balance. Nice not to get flamed on residuals too. I’ll take stock when time arrives.

I looked at the XM forum which has similar drive train and that's where I learned there was a difference in the PHEV mileage and ICE mileage for the run in service prompt. Some people have been driving around 6 month in PHEV and still no run in service prompts . And there is another odometer reading for the ICE engine which seems to be what triggers the service prompts (at least for run in)... Then again it could be different for this one

The manual, see previous post above, requests otherwise. Suggests both systems need some mileage.

Are you collecting on Jan 2 or 3 or leaving until later?

Right but the brake in service is only trigerred by ice given the idea of it is changing oil that is not a problem for EV part

Some say that but nobody appears to able to say with absolute certainty it’s the case.

Also, as the EV is so intertwined with the drivetrain, perhaps the mating surfaces there need some run time together.

Personally, I’ll be following the manual.

I reckon it’s Sophisto Grey like my one, see image here. It might be Tampa Bay though. Not certain.
