They are full of shit. When we got the GTR it came with run flats. Second day I had it, had a lag bolt stuck in the right rear. It was big. Took 2 repair worms to fill the hole but never had an issues for about 6 months of beating the shit out of it. Then bought 22” wheels and got rid of the run flats. You can 100% repair a RF

I confirm. Had that done in at least two cases on two different cars with RFs

Same the panamera 4s e hybrid costs the same and not in the same league the turbo e hybrid is but $50k more and less a drivers car. Plus porsche service is horribly expensive. Put my build in last week.

Had them on my M8comp and live in Michigan. No issues and loved them. Getting them on the new M5

I was so impressed w/the M5 - I drove it up and down some highway miles - then faster than usual but without any effort at all on some curvy roads I know. Loved the seats. Turned off the fake sound adn it was surprisingly quiet. It was just a pleasure to be in the car. But, as soon as I hit the accelerator - I got my Tesla-ish acceleration with "real feel" torque and a whole new world of handling.

This has really shortened my list. I have a few questions in my head around other PHEVs that might be more "sedan like" and what the lead times on M5 delivery looks like.
Yeah G90 M5 is a big upgrade compare to Tesla

Run flat?
G90 is heavy enough to avoid adding extra weight ☺️

You’re gonna love it. And honestly I have been taking it to the same curvy roads I have always been taking my f90, g80 and recently g87. It handles just as well. And then I realized the extra weight issue people are pointing out is not the weight, it’s the speed it can achieve instantly while cornering 😆 so offcourse it will feel a little scary..

I think G90 feels like a better overall daily driver then F90
G90 feels like a big comfy SUV compared to F90
At least at first impression driving both back to back

Just picked up mine and drove it through town about 4 miles in fully electric mode. Was impressed how quick it still feels without V8 engaged.
Showed 29 miles of electric range available, and it went down to 24 after I drove it for 16 miles, 4 of those were electric, until I got on the highway, then v8 kicked in

It looks amazing! congratulations! my dealer told me that the car on their lot is charging to somewhere between 33 to 35. But that’s first blush.

Maintenance post warranty expiration- Scares me just to think of when stuff were out or breaks - and BMW isn't paying for it anymore

Lol it’s still true M5 nonetheless. Once you put it in Spot Plus it adjusts everything to be very planted and stiff.
Actually, difference between standard mode and Sport Plus is way more noticeable than same thing in F90

Not an suv at all, the car still has some serious grunt when idling and revving too, you can feel the frame move indicating serious M setup; this was my little smell test. The g8x don’t have this at all, and I remember the f90 did.

G90 does feel more like an SUV for daily driving. But once you put into dynamic plus mode, the extra weight gives it more planted feeling in my opinion.

The car handles super well, even in very higher speeds, I believe better than the F90.

Excellent daily… ‘23 M5 Comp after 2 years /36k miles. Opted no CCB do to commets already mentioned above. Had a coolant tank replacement and lately a intermittent but persistent passenger seat air bag error. Shop was great so far and replaced everything, seat cushion, checked wires, etc. Only other option they & BMW recon is the ECU. Going in next week to likely replace that. Obviously all warranty work. Otherwise, it drives like a dream and puts a smile on my face every time I start it.

ORDERING QUESTION: So my dealer has an allocation - if I plunk down the $$ now to oder, how long should I reasonably wait? ( Not a crazy set up).

Depend what production week you will end up
From production week it took 1 month to delivery
In my case it took around 2 month from order time to delivery east cost
Some people takes them 3 to 4 months

Like ctelimad said, depends on production week. G99's have production weeks scheduled for late winter/early spring. G90's probably sooner.
Placed my order in September for an early Nov build. Build locked in mid October, production complete early Nov, and arrived at VPC the day before Thanksgiving. Didn't arrive to dealer until 12/19.
