Excellent write up. All spacer info that anyone could ever want is all right here

One thing that would be great is to see if the rear wheel would fit in the front. The G90 wheel design looks great but the front wheel just looks way too small. Having the square 21" setup could be an option for people that don't want to go aftermarket.

Oh, we will certainly share; media to come. We did that to determine what we needed to do for our custom wheels..

We've updated the second post with our AST Lowering Spring media and also included photos for the square 21x11" setup.

For reference:

Quote:
Update 1/29: Apologies for the delay, a lot of projects going on. We are very grateful to AST / MOTON for providing us with a set of prototype lowering springs for our G90 M5. Since this is a prototype set, we're not going to comment on the ride or handling in the event that they tweak the final spring rates, but the overall lowering should remain pretty much the same on the production spring set:
1.25" front drop
1.125" rear drop

With BMW's "double wishbone" front suspension on the M5, you're able to keep the factory alignment specs when lowering, so our recommendation for spacers is going to remain the same at 12mm Fr / 12mm Rr when lowered. On the smaller models with MacPherson style front struts, lowering generally results in a bit more front camber, so you typically want to move to a slightly larger spacer to keep the same fender-fitment.

Recommended Fitment / AST Lowering Springs: 12mm F / 12mm R

And obviously with all the interest in running the square rear setup (21x11 et28 with 295/35R21), we also installed with and without spacers. A 12mm spacer in the rear is still ideal and while you can get away without a spacer up front, adding a 5mm spacer will retain the flush fitment.

Recommended Fitment / AST Lowering Springs / Square 21x11 et28: 5mm F / 12mm R

And for good measure we also included running the square rear wheel fitment with no spacers.

No Spacers / AST Lowering Springs / Square 21x11 et28

21X11” all around, lowered, with spacers looks perfect!

Does anyone know a price for the rear wheels?

Wow I agree that square setup looks sick! Should have came this way from the factory.

I found my answer, the MSRP for the real wheels is $1,510, but you can find them for about $1,250.

As mentioned, no spacer up front on square OE 21x11's still looks good, but the effective wheel offsets for our spacer setups are as follows:

OE Staggered 20/21" Wheels with 285/40 and 295/35 Tires:
Front 20x10.5 et16
Rear 21x11 et16

OE Square 21/21" Wheels with 295/35 Tires:
Front 21x11 et23
Rear 21x11 et16

Is there any need to run longer lug bolts when running a 12mm spacer, or is there plenty of thread?

Longer bolts are required (and included with our spacer kits) unless you're running a stud kit. Generally speaking, 75mm length studs are required for 12mm spacers.

Fantastic ! Do you recommend the ast lowering springs for my G99 or the rear would drop too much because of the extra weight ? Price of your ast springs ?

We received notice from the machine shop that the spacers should be available in 5x132 bolt pattern in early March.

We are thoroughly impressed with the 12mm spacers for front and rear, along with the AST Springs.

The AST's are now available for pre-order:

We expect to see different springs for touring models considering that AST has unique SKU's for the G61 Touring.

do the other 2025 5 series models run the same bolt pattern? Or is this odd ball 5x132 only for the M5?

I’d also like to know if they are cast or forged.

can confirm the M2 wheels are absolute boat anchors, particularly the rears

There's M-performance wheels for the G90/99 that will be forged but aren't available until sometime this summer

Any updates on when G99 Springs may be available?

Give the slightly higher rear recommended tire pressure it makes sense that the G99 may have slight stiffer springs for a heavier load.

IND-Distribution have you tried 15 mm front with AST springs? Or do you still recommend 12 and 12 with AST? I want mine as flushed as possible without rubbing on full load. Thank you.

Yes, we tried everything possible and strongly feel like 12mm is the best with the Hankook tires.

Any updates on timing for release of spacers or G99 springs? I have a few things in my cart on the IND site, but was going to order everything all at once if possible.
