M5 g90 2wd mode

On dry road, it feels like an issue with a transmission or something else, because yesterday it even had a kick in transmission when I tried to slide a car. It really feels like a fail safe or something else that tries to limit torque

I hope it’s software issue, because I’ve got one of the first producted car (in November) and maybe it’s not up to dated to the newest software version

Take it in and have the dealership test it. From what ive seen in other M5 reviews there should be no issues going full send.

Hopefully they sort it out.

I would take it to the dealer, this is not the car's normal behaviour in 2WD mode DSC fully Off.

Have you tried holding the DSC button?

No
Only on; mdm; off
2wd can be applied only in dsc off
So it’s not an issue with settings
Yes, I’ve already made an appointment with dealer

Noticed the 10 step traction control is gone... That's sad. I used it mid way on my G8x and that was nice to have a safety net somewhat... Now it's all or nothing.

Haven't tested any drift yet, still in break in period.

Pure speculation, but wonder if there is something bigger here (hopefully just software!) and part of the reason they limited Chris Harris.

Could also be tires or perhaps his car wasn't broken in yet and didn't have the service and inspection done so drift mode isn't on the table.

The car may know it's mileage count. I recall on the XM it told me to drive more gas miles and had a specific mileage counter until 800 miles. Had a icon on the dash for it.

At this point it's all software .

We need folks in other countries who paid for the package to confirm both pre and post breakin service.

I drove a rental one in Germany with 2k miles.

Mine hasn't arrived yet in Brazil (due to arrive in March) so I can not speculate on the one here.

The one I had in hand in Germany, did not have 10 stage or drift analyzer. But it did slide in 2WD, I only played a little with it though.

Another Eastern European user.

The German example I drove was a very early car, but it did go into 2WD without cutting power (but I only played very little with it).

That is what it seems. Weird. And the press cars, and early examples did not have that limitation but there was some power cuts in 2WD mode, as mentioned by one or two reviewers.

But the video presented here is very weird.

So I have following Driving Dynamics Options: SA1MB (M Drive Professional), SA7ME (M Driver's Package) and already drove 2300km (Runin Service was done at 2030km few weeks ago). Drift Analyzer and 10 stage M Traction Dynamics are not available in the menu.

There is a speculation that October production has "Old" software. I have appointment at dealer next Monday so let's see.

I do not have drift analyzer but my car is not broken in yet

I have M Drive Professional and 10 step traction control is not available even with DCS off and 2 RWD mode as i would be in my G81...

Also if you can... ask for them to show you how to engage it and take a photo AND video of it. I wouldn't be shocked if it's hidden deeper in a menu to avoid the liabilities.

Then it could be posted. If folks are paying for software which the car isn't equipped with its dirty.

Also did you do a search for it on ID?

Yes, both cars are post 1200 mileage service
I’m absolutely sure that there is no TC setup now in ID
I had g80 with lci interior with id 8/8.5 so understand where these setting are located

Additional ask, did you look in setup? Vs the m buttons setup?

Yes, European car version

Looked everywhere, even had a thought that they made hidden menu or something like that after you turn M mode setting as “race” or “track”, how was with sports display that can be activated only in race M mode, but unfortunately - nothing
