what might be a contributing factors is some of the parts shortages, i know as im tracking my build it states due to parts shortages there might be delays. Also, might be slowed down to fix the recall of the current builds before they leave port.

Wishful thinking, every time I see a photo ad of an m5 in my local dealers I ask them and they are gone.. I think the people that ordered are backing out but there are plenty of people out there shopping for a v8 beast with 700+ hp and grab it because there is anything close to this level of luxury and power and tech that competes with it today. I honestly think the g80ers are moving into it quietly because they hate the fact it’s become a new dodge charger and every kid in the block is driving them.

I was at my son's college hockey game and there was a G80 comp in the parking lot as I was walking out of the arena with him and I was looking at it and my son (who again, is a senior in college) goes to me: "You like that car dad? That belongs to my teammate." I responded: "Thanks...you just helped me out with my car decision."

The F90 didnt have the executive look and feel that I wanted for a daily, it was just too aggressive looking which was why I went to a E63 and if Mercedes had recently launched an updated e63 LCI and not just an e53 hybrid, id have gone that route. The G90's gives the best of both worlds, it looks executive and commands that subtle gaze of awe and attention and performs adequately and maybe not as nimble and light as the G80's but for a fast performing daily, it hits the mark completely (less the plastically inferior interior of course grrrrr!). It arrived at Dealer around Dec 10th 2024. So, it was built in November 2024. The fuel filler door fits perfectly. In fact, all the lines are perfect and the doors are all perfectly flush. Note: I did not opt for CCBs.

Here in Brazil, I don't see a move from G80 to G90 owners, and I believe this is only applicable to the US, where anyone who can write their name can lease a M3 G80 for cheap. This doesn't happen worldwide.

If they come out with a E63 S AMG with the V8 engine and that chassis (which was confirmed recently), I am not sure the M5 will be in a good place, BMW will have to come with CP versions to make it tighter. Everyone is a bit lost, but so is BMW. I ordered and liked the G90 M5 for what it is, but its not a M5. |

I agree, this F90 isnt a 'real' M5 but the E53 wasnt an E63 either yet was priced near almost the same as the G90, if theres an E63 its likely $20-$30k more. All in all, price and value, exterior dominating boss appearance the G90 hits the mark. |

Looking forward to the new e63 as well. Hope it happens. If it does, amg could make some waves again, which is certainly welcome.
I think the g90 is a real m5 but it suffers the same fate as most of the m cars at the moment. Too much of a compromise and none of them are a thrill to drive when stock. The g90 is the same as the others in the lineup currently…too soft suspension-wise, top end is neutered, too quiet, zf programming is boring. All are fixable in the aftermarket. Will be interesting to see how raw you can make the g90 feel. |
