I have a 2023 M550 in Frozen White and I did a full PPF on it with Xpel Stealth. I also hand wash my cars, typically rinse less.

I couldn't imagine not having PPF on the car. Washing is an absolute breeze.

I use XPEL Ceramic Boost after every 3-4 washes. I find the hydrophobic properties to be very good and the product is very easy to apply.

Fast forward a bit and I bought a fpg '25 i4 m50 that I DIDNT wrap or ceramic and was pleasantly surprised how the road/rain water DIDNT hang on nearly as badly. It also felt easier to wash and dry without the stealth ppf.

After 4ish months in the i4 m50 I did end up w several minor chips but nobody cares about our rides' paint; only we care. so I decided to forgo the stealth on this one, saving 9k and roll dice on how I'll feel when this gets chips. I found one already and I'm already at peace with it
For 9k, can't you just get the paint corrected multiple times over the years of ownership? I'm all in for 4k but anything more than that is just too much IMO. I can't justify that when I can pay someone 1k to fix some rock chips and compound the clear coat to remove surface scratches and swirl marks. No?

It's very difficult to match the Frozen paint colors for rock chips. And you can't paint correct Frozen paint like you can with normal gloss paint.

Fair. But does that argument not hold water for normal paint? I ask because I am in the market for a new car and were flirting with the idea of ppf and I am trying to justify it.

It's a great color, and it looks lovely on the car. I will never change my mind about the LED lights that separate the grill from the paint - I do not like those. They are optional, unlike other changes that BMW has in the pipeline, so I won't harp on them that much. . . Unlike other options I like them even less when someone is in my tail lights. I do respect that the bavarians finally admitted they had a "buck teeth" problem, however when you get braces you want to try and not draw attention to them . . . Adding LEDs to your rubberbands has the opposite effect.

Love the frozen paint won’t ever have anything but frozen paint .

Once you develope a system for cleaning the car it’s easy .

Don’t use BMW products don’t use anything with alcohol in it … water spots and such easy use vinegar and water solution works great .

Toughness wash less hands on it the better . The many colors from different shades is truly amazing unlike any other paint job . Enjoy

A lot of it comes down to how many imperfections you can tolerate.

Touch up paint for rock chips never looks right so then you have to consider a respray. Do you respray annually? After 5 chips? 10?

Paint correction doesn't matter as much if you have a good wash routine. But after a certain period of time, even washing properly, you'll have some swirls on dark colors.

PPF, in my opinion, makes all of this moot. Unless someone slams their door into yours while parked next to you 🤷🏻‍♂️

For me, the protection is a bonus. I need my cars looking brand new ALL the time. You literally wash /dry and it looks like it was just detailed every time. Best thing ever!!!

I like it but I got caught up in the online hate of Frozen paint and steered clear. I would bet some of the hate came from tradition enthusiasts and maybe a little jealousy. Yours looks great
