Get another lawyer, one who actually want you to get a large settlement, one who is willing to go after the full pollicy limits and only charges you if they win. There is no reason why you should settle for something way less keep fighting in the end it will be worth it. Good luck and best wishes.

I am a licensed insurance agent in Texas, although I don't sell insurance. The minimum liability limits in Texas for personal injury are only $20,000 for one person and that is what most people carry. So the most they are going to offer you is probably $20,000 to cover your medical bills, pain and suffering and attorney fees. I hate to give you bad news, but I doubt very seriously that you are going to walk away with $15,000 in your pocket after paying all the above bills. The insurance company doesn't really look at your attorney fees; that is your problem. They will pay for your old car, medical bills and a reasonable amount for pain and suffering, but, unless you lucked out and were hit by a person with higher limits, I doubt you will have much left over after cover the medical and attorney fees. I have a good friend here at work who was a senior medical adjuster for USAA for 39 years (she is off today). I will ask her what she thinks you will get since she was the one who actually negotiated the settlements with the lawyers and then signed the checks. I will post again on Monday or Tuesday. I do wish you the very best of luck and continued speed in your recovery.

Yea I actually spoke with the actual lawyer right now and he explained a lot that I didnt know, and turns out they never got my loss wages for the whole time I had to take leave of absence from my work so I will be getting that information tomorrow for them to add. But yea he explained a lot, and in all honesty its my father whos putting all the pressure on me to figure everything out bc hes 70yrs old and hes been thru a lot of these settlements and lets just say hes been lucky.. but anywho, I guess another reason is bc ive never been in an accident in my life so im new to all this..
