Exactly, if you want a balls to the wall performance ride, the Z06 does every performance category BETTER than a C63. Whereas the C63 is really limited to putting your foot down and going straight. Sure, it turns, just not like a Z06, or an M3.

The CTS-V is much closer to the C63 than the Z06 is to either. The CTS-V is also getting some big respect in the handling department. Comparing those two at least makes sense.

You liked the C63's steering feel? To me its numb. Hmm, over an M3? I don't get it. Regardless, these two cars are completely different, but if I wanted the fun factor, Z06. Practicality, C63. Really, I'd just get an M3.
The C63 is an underrated car in my opinion. It's not just about going in a straight line (though that's highlight of the car's strengths). It feels perfectly fine in the corners to me, and I'm a fan of how easy it is to perform throttle-induced oversteer.

When I said I liked the steering more, I was referring to the directness of the steering ratio (tighter ratio than the M3's from what I could tell), and the weight of the steering. The M3's was too light for me (but still amazing).

Comparing the cars again, I still feel that the sound the C63 makes is just out of the other's leagues. It's a very sharp, loud, in-your-face noise, which I like, but that could be due to my age. I want the car to shout "look at me, I've got more horsepower than I should ever need", if I'm dropping that kind of money on a super sedan. If I were older I'd prefer the "tamer" looks of the M5 or CTS-V.

Ok my converstations go way off topic and have little structure to them, sorry, haha. My main point is that the C63 is a car that gets looked over now because you have the surgical M3 on one side, and then you have the CTS-V on the other side, which is now considered the powerhouse of the bunch.

The automatic is the one fault I can find with the C63. It rips off shifts insanely fast, much faster than the ZF unit we have in our 335i's, but it simply doesn't stack commands, which is frustrating, to say the least.

I love being able to tap the paddles three or four times in my car to upshift or downshift consecutively, but with the C63 you have to wait for the shift to finish before giving it another command. On downshifts, you are able to hold the left paddle down and the car will continue to rapidly shift down to the lowest possible gear, which is nice. Upshifts, that's the annoying part.

It just complicates around town driving, making it almost necessary to leave it in Comfort or Sport auto when you're just cruising around at stop-and-go areas.

If you want nothing but performance, go for a Z06. You'll be treated to a perfectly adequate interior, two seats, minimal luxury, minimal technology, a harsh ride, and minimal storage room.

If you want a car that makes big torque, seats an extra three people, has much finer leather, has useable space, and four doors, go for a C63.

Good idea considering a CTS-V, but that's not an inarguably superior choice to the C63 by any means. It's bigger, it has more power, but it's a different car. The Benz and Caddie feel different (I'm not talking out of my ass, we have a C63, and I've test ridden/driven a CTS-V). I like the steering in the C63 way more, even more than the e92 M3 I drove. I also like the sound it makes more than all the others.
agreed...

i mean there are people who just buy fancy cars, and a small fraction of those people are actually enthusiasts, and a even smaller fraction of enthusiasts actually track, drag, autox, or rally their cars.

the c63 would get beat on the track... but the z06 has much less utility.

Exactly.^

I tried to find a clip that shows how the car sounds from the inside when you're downshifting aggressively (braking seems to make the car downshift more aggressively, even if you only lightly press them). The vid quality sucks, and the sounds are warped, but it's a pretty good idea. Sounds much better in real life.

The driver isn't that good in my opinion, and he downshifts a bit too much, but that's all the better to get my point across about how it sounds.

One of my favorite things about F1 is when the safety car comes out. I love the sound of the Merc as it rattles by!

No question the Z06. C63 is a good looking car, but who the hell cares about that when you have a 3200 pound car with a 7.0 liter V8 that revs to 7K RPM that will destroy 99.9% of cars that come in its path.

Z06.
It is a fantastic car for daily driving - I know - I've owned one. It doesn't ride harsh, it's a sports car. It was comparible to the M3 in sport mode for sure. As for room inside, there is plenty of room in the back. Much larger than you'd expect. The engine is incredible. 7.0 liter spinning at 7000rpms. The suspension is completely adjustable from the factory. I lowered mine with nothing more that the turn of a couple of bolts.
Also - MAJOR flaw with the Merc - Auto only.

P.s. Here's a pic of the yellow bomber

Go with the Z06. It's definitely the better (and more fun) choice.

I'd go Z06, and for a sedan I'd go M3.

I thought it rode harshly for a DD.

Nope, not even close. If you want to drive something that rides harsh then go drive a 1984-85 Corvette with a Z51 suspension.
The new C6 Z06 isn't even close to harsh. My father who was 71 before he passes away didn't think it rode harsh.

Bottom line: These are two majorly different cars for the same money. The Z06 is a supercar and the C63 is a sports sedan.

Thank you for posting this.

I hate when people make assumptions about cars and then post their opinion on here without any real world experience.

Guys, I realize that those two cars are completely different, but that's why I asked for your opinions!

Also, as I was reading the post, some suggestions came up about the Cadillac CTS-V.
I think that car is astonishing, but I heard it is going to be (not sure it's on the market yet) more expensive than the C63.

Again, I know how fast it is, but in case of the C63, at least you're getting the MB badge and everything top quality (I hope so, at least).

BTW, thanks for all your comments, again, guys!
