Nice car but is the IS been replaced with a new model next year? The reason I ask is the Lexus dealers around here are offering crazy incenstives on the IS250's.

I'll be visiting my mother in a month again, and will have to drive her car with the paddles again...
I had a 1992 SC400; probably the best car Lexus ever made. I also like the new ES.

As for driver involvement (other posts)... not many people w/ BMW's can really drive on a track or a windy road. Nor do they really care.

both cars have there high points and low points....(any car brand in general really)

Some people are just fanboys who hate every car that isn't a BMW.

I really like the IS, but it wasn't an option for me since there is no Lexus dealer in Tallahassee. The closest one is 100+ miles away in Jacksonville, and though they are reliable, God forbid anything went wrong, I didn't want to be stranded. The Toyota dealer here said they could fix any issues, but I didn't want to trust them considering they don't work on Lexus vehicles at all probably.

LOL.. and people wonder why some BMW owners are stereotyped as cocky.. is it because Lexus is a threat?

I'm an IS350 owner and i'm a car enthusiast, not a Lexus enthusiast.. my brother picked up a 335i coupe afterwards so i do love the 335i, but there's always a pro and con to every car.. nothing is made perfect.. been a member here for quite a while and there are always some people on here that sound so damn cocky.. then I go to ClubLexus and there are always people with showing respect to other brands.. if my car is a "chick's car" then so be it..

My father had one and hated it. Four months, shortest he's ever had a car.

Hope your father likes it better!

2swift, I hear ya on the fanboy/chick car bullshit. I owned an S2k in a color almost identical to Blue Water Metalic, and EVERYONE called it a chick car. That is, until they couldn't see me after turn 4 at Limerock! :-D That tends to end "chick car" comments in a hurry.

I think IS350 is a lemon. And The closest Lexus/Toyota dealerships are pretty crappy in the service department trying to deny warranty work on my traction control system. They are terrible with customer service.

The Lexus dealership out here is tip-top. So much more upscale-feeling than the BMW one right down the road. The people that work at the Lexus dealership here also seem to be alot more cordial, and even more apt to talk shop than the BMW guys. Weird that the Lexus guys would know more about cars....

It's the exact opposite here. At least the BMW dealership is good.

I owned one for about a year when they first came out. I liked it alot too great car. But nothing compares to a BMW

Ill tell you one thing he'll get the best customer service out there. Lexus treats customers like kings. And the reliability is great. Congrats for your dad !

Most BMW are too heavy to be used for regular track toys without weight reduction either, as evident by most recent reviews that the 350z is a more focused driver's car. BMW are great for your occasional detour from daily commute and taking a off-beaten route home.

i have an is350..its a pretty nice car but i agree, the paddles are shit.
it does what a lexus is meant to do, be comfortable and drive nicely.

I personally think of mine as a nice, big couch with some cool gizmos.
It isn't the fastest thing around, but its pretty quick..I enjoy it, but it's no where near my M3..

try going about 45mph and gun it...you'll like it

Well, Toyota makes cars that sell. It's not aimed for performance oriented market.

No one with driver involvement in mind goes to Toyota dealership lol..
They will go right to rx7, evo, s2k unless of course they could afford porsche..

As GM has proven, you can't sell cars people don't want. The fact that Toyota and Lexus have so many of theirs on the road proves they build a good product for a lot of people.
