Thanks for the suggestions guys, im looking at F150's now that you guys mention it...it seems to fit my needs, budget, and styling for a truck...there are a few for sale in my area for 5-7K...pretty damn cheap...
Japanese trucks like Tundras are nice, but are just too expensive...i heard Tacoma can't tow much...so likely gonna get an F-150...

I've got an '02 GMC Sierra with a Duramax diesel 6.6L and never had any issues other than a worn out pitman arm even with an intake/exhuast/big turbo kit and a 6" lift on 35's done plenty of towning 400 mile round trips and a few to the east coast and back 190k miles and still runs like new

That would be a sick truck, but you actually took care of your truck. Plus you skipped zero corners. Instead of chipping the stock turbo you upgraded it. The problem with V8 diesels is they throw rods easily. Especially Fords!! I'd rather be cummin than stroking anyday!!!

you won't go wrong with either chevy 1500 or Ford F-150...make sure you get one with towing package (tranny and oil coolers)...or if you can find a 2500 or f-250 in your price range get it 'cause you can never have too much towing capacity...if you don't go off road or winter you can save some $$$ by getting 2wd (and don't have to worry about transfer case breaking)

Nice lift, Shift. I love that body style, too.
I've got an 08 GMC 1500 with everything but the nav. I love it. This makes my third GM truck and 5th overall. I keep going back to the GM's - love em. I've not been pleased with the Fords interiors and the Toyota truck is probably still running somewhere - and it was an '89 model. Any of the 1500's (GM, Dodge) or 150's will do for you. Make sure you check the tranny and 4WD systems before purchase. If they've been neglected, you could be in for some serious change when they break. The engines are all easily worked on by anyone with a dog chained to a tree in front of his trailer. Only thing I lack is a leveling kit for the front and some bigger tires. No plans on a large lift. ![]() I took this one a few weeks ago. Have seen this guy riding around for months with his dog riding on the tool box and never had my camera till then. ![]() Good luck with the hunt. |
