that's probably the reason why so many people have flickr. do you think the premium acc fee is worth it?

Yes, but I forget why. I had a free account up until earlier this year and went to the "Pro" level account. Sorry, but I forget the particulars. Statistics tracking is a new thing that I think that you only get with one of the premium packages, but there were additional reasons.

Shutterbug has a nice feature about Flickr an issue or two ago. It's worth digging up online. A few people have gotten famous through their Flickr presence. There's a young woman featured in that article that started posting her sefl portraits on Flickr while in college. She's amazingly talented as both a model and a photographer. It doesn't heard that she's drop-dead gorgeous, but there's no denying her photographic talent and she does an amazing job of posing herself and capturing the image.
